There's never enough time to play the games you want, and there are more now than ever. Some titles inevitably go unnoticed by the general public due to niche genres or not being appreciated enough by critics (and companies) despite being beloved by fans or breaking even financially.

Regardless, it's always fun to go off the beaten path and see what some underrated titles can offer with their gameplay. Whether it's the joys of climbing in Jusant, slaying tons of zombies in Days Gone, struggling with cosmic horrors in Eternal Darkness, rocket-sliding around in Vanquish or deciphering whatever is happening in Stories Untold, these titles offer something unique that's worth checking out.

Check out 15 of the most underrated titles available and what makes them stand out.

PC Requirements is an absolute masterpiece! One of my top 5 favourites!

‘Vanquish’ is easily one of the best games of the 7th generation. Just incredible

Mad Max & Sleeping Dogs for me. Probably two of the best 15-20 games that I have ever played.

Mad Max hand combat was cool, but honestly I think the car driving, car combat, engine roars, etc, were done SO WELL. I'm a huge fan of the movies, so finally I felt like I was actually controlling The Road Warrior

Mad Max and Days gone are some of the best games I've ever played.

'Sleeping Dogs' is a criminally underrated single player game. It's over 12 years old and has aged really well.

PC Requirements is such an underrated gem. 6:52 But seriously, I own at least half of these games because of videos praising them and giving them their due spotlight that major outlets and general word of mouth didn’t.

Played mad max last year, had an absolute blast. Also went back and got the plat on days gone while playing on the hardest difficulty. Need a sequel 😢

Don't forget Singularity a 360 game sadly not backwards compatible..

Days gone is so amazing, but the fps issue when it came out, really hurt it. However, a must play underrated game

I know it's been on plenty of lists like this before, but man, Eidos Montréal's Guardians Of The Galaxy game is still one of the best singleplayer games I've played in the last ten years. The gameplay is solid, but it's the visuals, acting, and writing that make it so special. I genuinely ended up preferring their versions of the characters over the film versions, especially Star-Lord. The game's sales were arguably hurt by the deserved critical failure of the Avengers game.

I'm really happy that you mention trails in the sky. Thank you guys.

Man it just hurts the heart how they didn’t give Days Gone a sequel!! I still wish Sony would give us fans a second days gone..

In its final state, Days Gone is the most underrated game of the PS4 generation. In my personal top 5 easily. It just gets better and better as the game progresses.

Mad Max was such an awesome game. One of my favorite game worlds ever. Sometimes I’d forget about the storyline, hop in my custom ride and just go cause some mayhem for a few hours😂

My favorite underrated single player game is The Solus Project. It has some survival elements, but the story is festinating, the graphics are very good, and the music fits the atmosphere perfectly.
