MON MOME wins the 2009 Grand National at 100-1: A poignant remember of the talents of Liam Treadwell

Mon Mome was trained by Venetia Williams and owned by former international bridge player Vida Bingham. He was ridden by Liam Treadwell, who was tragically found dead in 2020 after a battle with depression. A hugely talented jockey and a thoroughly likeable man, Treadwell rode more than 300 winners.

100-1? So much for odds. In this race, only the bestest of the best win. To win not by a length, but by 10 easily!!!. 30 hedges, 4.5 miles. All these horses are the best of the best. Some fall, but continue running, as they were taught do do. This race puts all other races to shame!
