Bad boys did the impossible... with Bad Boys: Ride or Die, somehow managing to make a great fourth instalment after the similarly fun Bad Boys For Life. How has a franchise started in 1995 by Michael Bay managed to keep going and keep a standard of action movie quality?

I’m all for a Hobbs and Shaw style spinoff with Armando and Reggie.

These last two Bad Boys movies & the last two Transformers movies have shown that the best thing for a franchise, the way to improve the quality is pretty simple. Get rid of Micheal Bay.

Man, I can't believe the bad boys franchise is actually getting better....

We ride together we die together, bad boys for life! I don't know who came up with that but it's genius.

Because the Slap was the only BIG negative thing about Will Smith, it allowed for the passage of time (2 years to be exact) to allow fans to warm up to him again. He wasn’t out attacking the fans or even trying to be full blown political, he just came back with an action film to be enjoyed by the audience. That all we’ve ever wanted from Hollywood and Will Smith helped deliver that. So, respect there.
  • As much as I think Will acted like an ass by resorting to violence on live tv, I do agree that being judged by the academy that gave Roman ''I like them between 10-15'' Polanski, a standing ovation, is in itself a sad commentary on thing.

I'm actually with you: I was shocked as I watched "Bad Boys for Life" that I was getting so emotionally invested. It was really well done!

I think one aspect of the film that doesn't get enough credit, is that Mike went from a ladies man to eventually realising that he he'd be the most happest that he can be, if he settled down with the love of his life. Just like his brother in arms has been doing and showing him for years now. He even has a son that he has to look out for along with his wife, that is some beautiful character progression and the writers deserve the success that they are having.

I’m glad that people are enjoying this but the fact that it’s already made all its money back while Furiosa bombed actively pisses me off.

Reggie's scene was probably my favorite in the movie. That's exactly how I want to see character growth done in my movies.

As someone who can’t stand Micheal Bay & thinks he’s the Archangel of Destruction upon cinema, I’d never thought I’d end up liking movies in a franchise he started, certainly helps that he’s not directing so we don’t have his ridiculous editing, out of control chaotic direction, revolting humour, unlikable characters & annoying frenetic action scenes.

I loved Bad Boys for Life and I knew the knew one was coming out but somehow I missed it actually getting released. I'm glad to hear it's kept up the quality, I'll have to check it out now!
