When Whoopi said at the beginning "Republicans voted for" and Joy said "say no more" 😂😂😂😂

I understand Sunny’s concerns, however, there is no guarantee about how long he stays speaker in this chaotic party
  • I love joys comment about Johnson's mild manner and do not look evil like Gaetz.

Alyssa is off base on her comment regarding "moderate' Republicans. The reality is that Republican majority states that have gerrymandered have the goal of minimizing Democrats and ALSO encouraging the maga-type Republicans. The rise of maga types has its roots in the Reagan years, followed by the Tea Party, etc.

Joy Behar "next year we are going to fix you" 👏👏👏👏

He’s a constitutional law lawyer that obviously failed the bar exam, if he believes the 2020 election was stolen. I give him a big “F”!

I’m feeling Frank Underwood from House of Cards vibes for the new speaker. Calm, cool, collected outwardly. Internally, very strategic and maniacal. 😳

I'm sorry, but when I hear the Speaker of the House say that "Prayers are sufficient" when talking about the shooting in Lewiston, Maine, it makes me mad. Prayers are great ... when action is taken in conjunction with those prayers to protect innocent civilians and keep guns out of the hands of those individuals who are mentally ill, have a grudge against a particular community, or hold extremist political views. "Thoughts and prayers" and "Prayers are sufficient" are statements made by individuals in our government who think that by doing so, it absolves them of any blame or guilt for their actions and rulings that empower those individuals mentioned to cause harm to others. Prayers will not bring those eighteen people who lost their lives back to life and to their loved ones.

6:14 Alyssa if they were resonable people you would have a point. You KNOW that Johnson is a horrible choice for democracy. Please stop speaking out of BOTH sides of your mouth.

To fellow View audience, it's ok that the panel agrees on some issues. I hope that we are not watching this show to be entertained by people fighting all the time. That's what perhaps less news-focused, less serious shows are for. In terms of comments criticizing Alyssa for agreeing with the rest of the panel on this one issue, Alyssa left her post, because she was horrified by the Insurrection on January 6. And she's been an outspoken critic of Trump ever since. (Similar to most of the folks in Trump's orbit, because he picks the "best people" who later he swears he didn't know...) She was not pleased with the current choice for speaker, because he's not only an election denier, he is considered a chief architect of trying to overturn election results in key districts most of which represented predominantly black voters. She is also not pleased with this pick because he is anti-LGBTQ and anti-abortion-without-exception, both issues Alyssa has been quite consistent on. She also has worked on the Hill, so she has experience and knowledge about the competence needed to be a productive member of Congress. Allyssa is conservative in the truer sense of the term -- limited government. That means government should keep out of private matters, like which consenting adults get married. She has a more nuanced stance on abortion, because she is a practicing Christian (so she has a tough time not applying her religious views to everyone else like many anti-abortion religious people). She does not support an outright ban; instead, she supports bans after a certain stage of the pregnancy and exceptions for rape/incest (like the majority of Republican voters). She disagrees with the rest of the panel consistently on other issues, like abortion, like Israel, like Biden, like "the Squad". And she disagrees with poise, fact-based understanding, and yet a willingness to hear other people out. She has been a welcome addition to the panel.
