In Search of The First Sonic Fan Game

Hello guys, gals, non-binary pals, and waterfowls! It’s me Big Mike and in this video we are going to be engaging in some internet history and archaeology by examining the earliest Sonic Fan Games and related projects to see if we can determine which one is the earliest. This is a complex situation and the answer is not as simple as seeing which one came out first. In order to find these early specimens we must search the old web, what remains of the 90's internet.

I think we should label these 3 early Sonic fangames in different "The first [blank] Sonic game" Sonic Boom is the first full Sonic fangame Mini Sonic is the first playable Sonic fangame Sonic Game Preview is the first executable Sonic... uh fangame? Even then, it doesn't really matter which it's the true first fangame, as the discussion is divided and cannot reach a full-on agreement, but at least, be fascinated how early the fans were creating their own game based on Sonic
