Italian PM Giorgia Meloni responded to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar's "European mindset" jibe. Speaking at Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi, Melon without naming Jaishankar said that “Europe’s problem has become World’s problem”.Last year, Jaishankar said that “Europe thinks that Europe's problems are the world's problems but world's problems are not Europe's problems". Jaishankar made these comments amid persistent efforts by Europe to make India take tough position on Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. Watch the video for more.

  • I'm Italian and I totally agree with Dr. Jaishankar's point of view. And it pains me that our prime minister didn't understand, or chose to misunderstand, his point. He never said that Europe's problems are not the world's problems; he said that Europe must stop only seeing European problems, expecting the world to breathe around them, and ignoring the rest of the world for everything else. And his observation was also factual: it's clear that Europe keeps ignoring the rest of the world, except for North America. There's no denying that most people in Europe don't even know what kind of government Asian or African countries have, or what their leaders are called, let alone what kind of problems they face daily, beside whatever is coming on them from our side. And the fact that she completely missed that point is the biggest proof of how right he was. And she went all the way to India to say that? But, of course, she had to dodge a shipful of wreckage victims in Calabria right then.

The fact that a lot of Italians in the comments are supporting Mr. Jaishankar gives me hope....Hope that a few stupid politicians cannot disturb global peace. Thank you my Italian friends 🙏🙏
  • @Comezuki
As a Russian i love our Bharat FM j.kar Мы будем братьями навсегда 🇷🇺❤️🇮🇳
  • Dr. Jaishanker has changed the way foreign nations look at India ..... proud to be an Indian !
  • Dr s jaishankar never said that the europes problems are not world problems, He just pointed out the hypocrisy of Europe where they think only their problems are world problems. So, kindly do not misinterpret his statement. There is a reason he is a gem of Indians.❤❤❤
  • @Visiontech
She didn’t get his message but she proved his point!
  • @aryamahima3
Thanks to this lady who further highlighted Dr Jaishankar’s statement (fact). Feel proud of him as Indian.
  • Its good to see Jaishankars sarcastic and eye opening 'Europes problem' comment is taken seriously by Europians. 😂😁😀
  • From Denmark: It is a HUGE difference between Dr S. Jaishankar speaking his mind, telling it as it is and Italian PM G. Meloni expressing somebody else´s mindset, reading from a paper somebody WROTE for her, asking her to stick to the narrative of the Collective West, if she does not want "Ops Gladio Stay Behind" to come back... Respect for Dr S. Jaishankar, a real statesman. 🙏🙏🙏
  • I am an European (from Italy)and I have to say that he is right. In Europe, but in general in the west,we have an "Eurocentric view" about world problems like if our problems are more important than the rest of the world . For us our problems have the priority worldwide and our news are an example about that. I rarely watch Italian news,I prefer to look for news around the net by myself because here 80% of the news on our newscasts concerns domestic politics(incomprehensible, more like a soap opera...) , a small percentage concerns international politics focused precisely on Europe, North America and sometimes the rest of the world. It's about time we took off the blindfolds...
  • She perfectly proved his statement. ON A STAGE. 😂😂
  • 50 years later when they teach Geopolitics, you bet Jaishankar's name comes more than you can imagine.
  • Dear PM Meloni , we Indians have had a Italian problem for 50 plus years now , kindly take Sonia, rahul and the whole clan back to Italy with you ...

So much respect for that man I guess Italy is starting to wake up and see that. Love from Canada. I visited Asia and I really had a great mind expansion in old India. Wow! So much ancient wisdom and culture. Here in Canada Indians are very hard workers. ✌️
  • When one country is growing, the dominant nations will try to oppress. It was unexpected indeed from Indian External Affairs minister to be so vocal to get a pain point. Their reply itself a sign of our growth. Kudos to Dr Jaishankar.
  • Australian and I am Proud of Dr. Jaishankar's Comment. Right time. Right Place. I want to give him a hug
  • Ah, classic 'World's problems aren't Europe's problems, but Europe's problems are World's problems' type of hypocrisy.
  • Her speech proved that Mr Jaishankar was on the nerves and the minds of the Europeans. She was reflecting insecurity. Our foreign minister Sir Jaishankar did a brilliant job there
