Bedrock hardcore is much more exciting. The game might glitch out at any second and you die for no reason. Really keeps you on the edge of your seat...

I dunno, there's no harm in keep inventory in hardcore mode, I think
  • @RandomClips420
i like hardcore bedrock because you never know if the internal server is eepy or no eepy
  • @CraftingCole
The best feature in bedrock is random heart attacks and cardiac arrest, it makes it more realistic and fun.
  • @chackbro1
As a Java purist, I think that bedrock has better hardcore solely because it's a lot harder to weasel your way back into your dead world
  • @jacara1981
Super Hardcore, you die in game, you die irl lol

I doubt I will ever try hardcore on bedrock. I still have a constant problem where going through a nether portal is a coin flip as to whether or not a mob is going to kill you while the game still says “Building Terrain”. This is on my realm, so perhaps that is the problem but either way, I would be so angry if a lost a hardcore world to a glitch.

obviously it's more fun on bedrock because the random unexpected deaths add gambling to the experience, making for exciting play. edit: i made this comment as a lame joke since i'd heard a lot about this particular bug on the internet recently. while i’ve never dealt with this bug myself in my 7 years of bedrock experience, that doesn’t mean i agree or disagree with either side of the story. you’re all entitled to your opinion :)

In my main survival world, right when you spawn there was a cliff about a block away. You don't even need to jump off, just run off and you'll die. Seed: -2659874026585973084

The fact that the video came out in the same minuet that he died in bedrock hardcore on a stream.

hardcore mode on bedrock is like how some insurances put every accident and event under the "act of god" clause and whether you make it the next in-game day or you don't it's a miracle or an act of god at this point, you could just lose the game by building upwards or get comboed by a ranged zombie.

Sorry for the long-winded comment, but stick with me here. I started playing Minecraft on the Java version back around 2014 or so. Unfortunately, due to a legitimate house fire (I wasn't subscribed yet) in 2018 I pretty much lost everything. I was in no way capable of affording a new PC setup, but my brother gave me his PS4 so I could still have some way to play games. I was skeptical to start playing Minecraft again because of unreasonable biases I had formed over time against Bedrock. Regardless, I found a Bedrock subject matter expert (Andrew) on youtube in order to learn all the mechanics I wasn't familiar with. Some, I wasn't stoked about, but I didn't see any real deal breakers, so I pulled the trigger and started a new world. Six years later, I have a formidable PC setup again, which I use for a vast majority of games, but I'm still playing Minecraft on my now PS5.(side note, I've never experienced being bugged to death in all that time. Im not sure if i'm the exception, and I'm curious what other bedrock players have to say) At this point, I can comfortably say I personally prefer Bedrock over Java for a multitude of reasons. However, I've also never tried to put anyone down for which version of the game they play, which is a huge rhetoric within the Java community. I'm aware that Bedrock has a larger demographic of younger players, but from what I've seen, Java players are the ones acting like a bunch of coping children. Just enjoy your version of the game and let others do so as well. There's no war here, so try to live and let live. You're doing good things for a good community, Toycat. Keep it up.

You gotta find like a mountain seed to jump off for speedrunning death
  • @AceMcCrank
It might be worth noting that Java Edition has a gamerule to enable Spectators to generate chunks.
  • @VolKAYNEno
Life is just a massive multiplayer game of Hardcore Mode with more features.
  • The real question is, can you now pause the game to go amswer thw door now they are doing hardcore? Or do you still have to quit to main menu? 🤔
  • People are still randomly dying in Bedrock Edition, including the people who have tried the new harcore feature. Until they fix that, Hardcore IS STILL better on Java Edition.
  • @Gugagla_
I think that would be cool to have an "one life option" separated from hardcore, like you have one for mobs not spawning separated from peaceful. You could experiment with "easycore" speedruns and things like that.
  • Isn’t the spectator mode not generating chunks on Java a game rule you have to turn on?
