Wind 310@20kt cleared to land rwy 26

Published 2010-09-04
20kt wind at 45 degree angle means the 14kt crosswind component. Windsock is pulled straight :)
Landing technique: grab till threshold and progressive slip from threshold till touchdown to push the nose straight. After touchdown use the upwind aileron to push the upwind wheel and wing down to keep everything stable.

Thanks - actually the windspeed is not the problem, the direction of it is. So even if wind iw 20 knots the crosswind component - that tries to push the plane off the runway - is only 14 kts (although maximum demonstrated crosswind for C172 is 15kts) The airport is EETN - Tallinn, Estonia

Very nice landing considering the winds!.... 20kts is alot for a 172. BTW - what airport is this?
