I think the reason why Patrick Bateman is so relatable is because he's done with the way society is. It disgusts him and I feel like a lot of us especially men feel the same. The movie shows how superficial people are and that's why he kills them. He doesn't kill Jean because she's the only one who actually had character and actually cared about him. He feels ignored by society and the only way people care about him is if he had status like Paul Allen that's why he kills him. He wants to fit in but he gets no catharsis.

In my opinion, This is perfectly slowed. Genuinely the best version of this song.
  • Do you like Mary Harron? Her early writing work was a little underground for my taste, but when "I Shot Andy Warhal" came out in 96, I really think she came into her own, both commercially and artistically. the whole movie has clean crisp visuals and a fresh coat of consumerist professionalism that gives the movie a big boost. In 2000, Mary Harron directed "American Psycho", her most successful movie. I think her undisputed masterpiece adaptation of book character, Patrick Bateman, is a character so charismatic that people probably don't listen to his dialogue. But they should, because it's not just satirical of the problems of yuppie/sigma grindset and the dangers of becoming an image instead of a person, but it's also a personal statement about Mary Harron herself. HEY PAUL!
