I am Māori, I want to know what it is, how self absorbed are we to think we’re the first on this planet, there could have been 1000 civilisation before us our planet is that old.

As a Māori I want to know the history of the ancients that used to live in New Zealand as much as I want to know about the ancients who lived in other places as well. Ancients living in NZ before the Maori does not take away the indigenous identity of the Māori who lived in NZ for at least 1000 years before the arrival of the Brits. But whenever solid evidence appears of earlier people groups occupying the land, we should know about it. The ancient history of the world belongs to humanity, not a single people group or country.

Wow this is being dismissed because it goes against the historical narrative of New Zealand?!!! It’s so infuriating that we dismiss and disregard our ancient ancestors because we fear our true history.

Maori oral history speaks of the "redheaded tall ones" that were here before them, also know as the tanga te whenua. They taught them how to grow kumara, the only crops grown by maori before the Europeans arrived.

I just love how mainstream academic scholars are always quick to dismiss these ideas, It goes against the grain of their very foundations and would make fools and laughing stocks out of all them, their peer review papers and books would be forever removed from history. This is why we will never see the truth presented by anyone other than people considered fringe. What the world recognizes as truth has become the biggest lie of all.

Note per NZ Herald: this was Debunked in 1996 by Department of Conservation regional archaeologist Neville Ritchie “They carefully dug a trench along the front of the wall that allowed them to track the face of the stone deep into the ground. Two metres down it merged with the bedrock. The huge blocks belonged where they stood, and had not been shifted or shaped by humans.” The wall was part of a large ignimbrite outcrop. After the volcanic rock flowed into place about 330,000 years ago, it cooled and cracked, leaving the appearance of a stone wall. In his DoC report, Ritchie said the presence of a long horizontal crack along the length of the visible outcrop added to its man-made appearance but further into the hill, it was less uniform and several other features - such as natural layers in the rock matched from one block to the next, meaning it had started as one piece. Barry Brailsford also accepted Ritchie’s findings, detailing the whole episode in his 2019 autobiography Beyond the Boundaries of Time.

It is a natural rock formation. The regular block shapes are produced by natural fractures in the rock.

I saw a documentary when a megalithic structure was inspected. It was created by very large rocks (sometimes 20 tons or more) cut into rectangular shapes and connected without mortar with very precise cutting to make them fit each other. There was also a visible later reconstruction effort. The original structure was expanded with much smaller rocks connected with mortar. The researchers said that it's significant drop in quality, but I have an alternative explanation. I think it was a sign of improvement. Big rock buildings can stand for ages, but they are good when you have a lot of time and population stable for centuries. You don't need to build new homes, unless the old collapse when the population is flat. You can take your time hauling 200 ton rocks uphill. But when there is advancement in agriculture, and population rises, you need some quicker method. Small stones and mortar would suffice. There is also less builders available, because people tend to land or engage in craftsmanship or trade. Maybe it was a sign of progress? When people for the first time saw that future is not a flat line and maybe there is no need to build for eternity.

A very well researched and put together presentation. I am from NZ and have heard many stories from elders of who was here first,. and it was not Maori.

The pre flood civilization might as well be called Atlantean. So much evidence presents that it was world wide and not simply localized in one place now considered hidden or lost
