Rich CImini: "Notes from Jets GM Joe Douglas’ interview this morning on
DRonESPN:
* Aaron Rodgers is “moving around well … slinging the ball as well as ever.”
* Plan is to play Olu Fashanu at LT, but he will get practice reps at RT and maybe other positions. (This sounded more routine than some grand plan.)
* Wouldn’t say if they tried to trade up for Rome Odunze. (They did.)
* Started making calls at pick 45 to trade up for Malachi Corley. (Got him at 65.)
* Jordan Travis “got better and better and better” in college. Can play on schedule. Quick eyes. Compact delivery. Accurate on slot fade. Hackett and Downing visited Travis in his hometown in Florida.
* Still looking to add vets, but “we don’t have a lot left in the budget to spend.” (Safety remains a need.)
* On the ‘24 season: “We understand the pressure. We know what the stakes are.”

Jordan sitting and learning the system for 2 years is great.
  • Contract year coming up for Garrett breece and sauce. We gotta load up next year

I watch some film on Jordan Travis let me just tell you he's in a perfect situation and it was so smart to get Tyrod Taylor because I see a lot of his game in him and this man is fast and he knows how to deal with pressure because his pocket was never that clean but he still stuck in there to throw the ball regardless of taking a hit he has good accuracy not scared to take chances does at times wait for the person to be open for him to have the okay to throw it which is not okay now NFL and his arm strength he could definitely get better at
  • @surfnj19
I agree with only wanting fashanu practicing at LT and honestly should have Warren only taking snaps at RT
  • You want your best 5 OL out there at all times. If one of the tackles goes down, you want Olu coming in first, regardless of which side it is. That way your best 5 players are on the field.

Not sure you’ve heard this yet BUT the deal was originally for a 2024 6 round pick. But that pick went to the Vikings when they traded up with us. So then, it turned into a 2026 pick, guess the Jets lost some leverage cause Broncos knew they had to get rid of him.

The moving around doesn’t only lead to injuries, but it also doesn’t allow them max out their potential because their learning too many things instead of just learning and mastering one position..
  • @outlaw6
Definitely waiting for your draft grade video🔥🔥
  • @TheTEN24
I am just so happy we’re taking the right approach with a young QB for once and I hope it leads to good things in the future
  • I’ve seen this implemented before with new players in the NFL you want to send a shock to the system to spark development and create a psychological association to the opportunity and not settle with the “it’s done I’m in the NFL”mentality that a lot of new players develop. If you are not asked to dramatically rework yourself you increase stagnation and complaisance
  • @japamusic09
I totally agree with your take let the players focus on the job they were drafted for not try and make them versatile players..they need consistency in reps with each other. You don't see the defense having Sauce get reps at safety or Mosley as an defensive tackle...come on Jets what are we doing drafting a left tackle so he how to a pulling guard 😮😢
  • @ronmexico6551
The JFM trade was probably part of the Wilson trade, just announced later during the draft so Broncos fans has something to cheer
  • @webversal
I agree I do not like this moving around on the OL, I am not a doctor but I feel moving around got AVT hurt and it’s the root of our OL injuries
  • JD will have to look for players that want to come to the Jets and give a discount for being here. Jets drafted good WRs before. In the second round. Many of them just didn't work out. Constant changing positions could very well contribute to injuries.
  • @Anthonyy89
They didn't do enough for the draft. 1st round great got a steal in Corley but they could've taken more weapons in case Williams doesn't do well then we're back to just Wilson
  • @Jairogliphx
They don’t have money bc they keeping guys like Mosley and Lazard on the roster. I’m happy we picked up AVT fifth yr opt.
  • @mizzo9
JD is here to stay and he knows it and I’m glad. He’s being smart about the money and wants to keep some available if a need comes up or a player becomes available.
  • @kevinluebke338
We developed JFM. We can do it again. We needed that cap space to sign guys next year.
