I used to get really frustrated at people who cough in concerts... until I had to cough in a concert. I tried to hold it and I thought I might die. I started tearing up, I got hot red and when I finally did cough it was louder than if I had just done it quickly right away. So yeah I now have sympathy for all concert coughers.

Wow, an interesting version I didn't know: with choir (of coughing).

The only composer who was capable of writing a truly "perfect' piece.

5:14 it gets me every damn time. The whole work is a masterpiece but these 3 pages are such an orchestration gem

I might go as far as to say this single piece is one of man's greatest achievements. As Ravel once said, it is a perfect composition, which only Debussy could achieve. Its complete perfection - not even one not displaced.

This sounds like a simulation of what concerts would sound like right now if they weren't cancelled due to coronavirus

How to change the world with a ten minute orchestral composition.

Thanks so much for posting this... It's a far cry from scratching about with trying to follow along with the music using miniature scores... :)
  • Have a little consideration, if you must cough.. you could at least do it on the beat & at the right pitch in Key !!
  • This wonderful footage is a great gift to Debussy lovers like me

Wish the tempo was just little slower to have that dreamlike feel to it

What's up with all those coughing starting at 1:13? It's like if there were poison in the theater.
