The year is 1987, not 1988. Nov. 7 was a Saturday in 1987, and this game show aired Sat. afternoons at 12:30PM EST on NBC stations(the show was an NBC show, not syndicated) in 1987-88(and Family Channel in reruns at various times from 1989 to 1995) , for those that chose to pick it up and it wasn't preempted for sports programming by NBC

What was the NBC Special Report about? Possibly Douglas Ginsburg bowing out as a nominee to the Supreme Court, after it was revealed he smoked pot. (Yes, really.)

The first taping of "I'm Telling!" was #101 (aired on February 13, 1988). #114 (aired on February 06, 1988).
