Amazon LED Light Upgrade for my Garage! | Budget LED Lights

I upgraded the lights in my shop with these 8 feet long T8 LED lights from Amazon. I had 6 smaller fixtures that were OK for a one-car garage but were definitely not enough for a two-car garage workshop. I installed 10 Barrina T8 LED fixtures in my shop and it made a huge difference in the light output as well as better light disbursement overall. I put 8 led shop lights in my garage & originally had them all chained together to turn on with 1 switch. It was nice for a while but went back to individually turning them on because I found that at times I liked how shadows helped me judge some surfaces.
  • I have that exact same system in my shop, but the lights are 4 ft long, and I love them! Very bright and can be installed in any configuration you need.
  • Thanks Matt, I was about to buy the 6 pack from your older light upgrade and just saw these. Thanks for the info and demo. I used your link and look forward to the upgrade!
  • Nice!! I just added more light to my shop. Makes a huge difference. Thank you for the content.

Just got my lights installed and...FANTASTIC!!! Thanks so much for this advice! I did order the pipe straps, but as they haven't come in and the lights have come in, I used the clips that came with the lights and they worked fine. I was going to use a smart socket, as I have used those in the past, but just went with a light socket plug thingy and now all the lights work off the garage overhead light switch. Again, many thanks!!!

I love that I can come back to your old videos to find things like these awesome lights, and even your older one. I'll probably end up buying both
  • I have the 4 foot version of these and love them. Bright clean light everywhere in the shop!

LEad lights are awesome, thank you for sharing this with us today from Henrico County Virginia

I put these same ones in a few months back. I also used the pipe bracket and love them. Here’s a tip…All LED emit a frequency. I think The nicer ones block the frequency before they leave the light fixture. Since these are cheaper they do not block the frequency. If you have all the lights on and try to use your wireless garage door opener from your car or the keypad outside it can block that frequency and the motor will not respond. I left my garage lights on once and my wife couldn’t get into the house because she left her keys on the counter while she went on a walk, and I wasn’t home😂. The hardwired button in the garage or the Wi-Fi will work though since it’s hard wired. This was a fun troubleshooting to figure out what was going on. To fix it you can extend the antenna wire out the garage door with some speaker wire.

Loving the LED shop lights that are out these days. Found some motion sensing shop lights at HF for almost half the price of the ones HD was selling, and the HF lights are brighter. 3 years, no issues...just lots of light
  • @FixItFrench
Have the exact same lights. I had to take 2 lights down when I installed them because they were so bright! 10/10 buy👍🏼
  • @JasonPeltier
So yeah, I bought the 6 you recommended last time. They work great! But now I can tell I have some places that are lacking. So like you, I need to upgrade to these. And then, like you, I'll be using the original 6 in specific task areas. Thanks for the review!

I caught the HF LED lights on sale a couple of years ago. they were $15.99 each, put 10 in a divided 2 bay shop . so bright, lights up the yard thru the cracks in the wall!!

Hey Matt, I followed your old video for lights in my shop and they work great. One thing I did and you can do here is get a "Smart Switch" and replace the current switch you are using to turn on half of the lights. Once you do that you can then sync the smart plug to the smart switch and all of the lights can work off of that switch or from Alexa.

Lucky guy, I love the dice tray and the dice!
  • @MCarberry89
I was going to Install a bunch of LED lights in my garage when I get home. I am glad you liked these. I will order these, your Amazon link didn't open the Amazon app. It's hard for me to spend money on something when you are not sure of the quality for the money. Thanks for the video!
