Well done! Very nice. Surprisingly, I especially like the sound of the neck pickup.

This reminds me.About 20 years ago I bought 3 or 4 of these bodies from an American ebay seller. New old stock surplus from the long closed down Danelectro/coral factory, never been used. My intention was to find banjo and octave mandola necks to hopefully fit. Unfortunately when they were delivered to my UK address, I discovered they had not been cut with neck pockets [I had neglected to notice that in the photos]. I've never had the luthier woodworking skills to do it myself. So the bodies went into storage, forgotten until watching this video today. At the time I had noticed that on at least one body, internal glue joints had began to separate from long years of storage since the late 1960s. So I can only guess what shape they are in now if I can find them.

Very nice! Btw, it's pronounced CORAL like the Great Barrier Reef, not CORRAL like a fenced area to keep animals in.😉✌
  • Very cool! Where did he find a NOS longhorn body like that? Did you fabricate the neck from scratch, or was it a ready-made part? I played low-open-tuned 12 strings for years, I mainly used Taylor T5-12s, regular 25" scale with heavy strings.
