This musical is breathtaking. And for those of you saying they're like twenty, about four of them just graduated highschool in 2013. They're all still very young, and not many are above maybe 23 or 24. Some can't be in college, some highschool. It's fantastic how passionate and talented these boys are, and the girl is a wonderful love interest to the show, as well as a woman fighting for her rights with the boys.
  • I've always had this vague memory of people tap dancing on tables from when I was younger and didn't like the broadway part of the Thanksgiving parade so now loving Broadway and newsies... I looked it up and OH MY GOD IS THAT YOUNG MIKE FAIST???? (I knew he was in Newsies but still)

Guys it's literally not a secret that they lip sync at the parade.

OMG I remember watching this when I was 8!!!! I didn't even know what it was back then and to think, now I'm obsessed with it

I remember watching this back in 2012 and wanting it to be like original movie with Jack’s love interest being Davey’s sister and all that. Now I can’t picture the story without Katherine, who is now a dream role for me, and can’t even remember the sister’s name.
  • Performers in the Macy's Parade have to lip sync because there is no microphone available to pick up the sound and make it clear enough to hear over the background noise. Every performer in the parade does. They have to.
  • I’m watching this after watching today’s DEH performance and Mike Faist is still just so cute and it’s exactly 5 years and aaaaaaaah!!!!
  • This is right up there with Jersey Boys as one of the best musicals ive ever scene. Awesome music, awesome acting, awesome story, awesome dancing. It truly has it all

Everytime I hear this, I think of thanksgiving and christmas two years ago, all my friends and family were watching the parade, and on black friday, we all set up the tree. It just brings a smile to everyone's face, and makes you want to sing along and dance! Who cares how much they changed?

Love the musical more than the movie, which I didn't think I would considering I was very skeptical of making the reporter a girl but it worked!

I agree 100%. And @jaggerfury, part of the reason they changed the lyrics was because they were rushed to make the movie back in 1992, and we unable to spend the time writing it that they wanted to. Jack Feldman and Alan Menken say as much in their acceptance speech at the Tony's.
