This is a Call of Duty game and you're treating it like it's the Second Coming of Christ.

Vorkuta not being memorable is indeed one of the hottest takes I've ever heard Shouting "Step one: Secure the keys!" is downright iconic.

This game was an entire chef's kiss. I wish more games were like this.

I personally loved Vorkuta. CoD is at its best when it uses its heavy scripting and high NPC density to make the player feel like they're part of something greater than themselves, and these paired with Reznov's speeches really sell you on the idea that you're part of an uprising, it feels like a revolution. The colour palette is bland, but in fairness it is a literal gulag

The campaign in this game is amazing, probably the best campaign story-wise of any CoD

I remember showing this game’s menu screen and cutscenes to my grandpa who had a multiple flashbacks. He was in the army during the Cuban missile crisis and before that, was in China during the civil war (his family was Chinese but he was born in the US). There were multiple points where he pointed and recognized some of the videos in the campaign. It was an awesome experience

It’s probably the cheesiest moment in the whole campaign, but when Hudson puts his shades on and the music does that sting… it’s my favorite part of the game

I love when games with fictional characters/stories added to Real life incidents. Black ops and World at War made me very obsessed with History Especially War History. Black ops is the best cod ever released.

I always thought that Black Ops' ending was a red herring. The final mission ends with the "merica" spiel, but it feels so fake. It almost feels like Mason can see behind all the 'pride', due to the fact that he was brainwashed/mangled by his own people. You can see this ESPECIALLY with the ACTUAL ending (as i call) with Mason assumed to be the/a suspect in the death of JFK.

Black ops 1 was an amazing game the campaign the multiplayer the zombies everything about it was truly great its sad to see the state it is in now to back in the OG days cod 4 waw mw2 BO1 mw3 BO2 etc great video man <3

This game and the first Modern Warfare were both my two first COD games and the two first FPS games I ever properly played. At the time when I was kid all I really played was racing games and the occasional fighting game so these were basically my gateway into more adult games at an age where I was waaay to young to be playing them. BO1 in particular is the sole reason why I ended up learning so much about the Cold War when I was younger and why I have such a huge interest in history as a whole now. Safe to say these game are always going to stick with me Even to this day I always make an effort to revisit these old COD games at least once every couple of months
