Honestly despite how different Wild Arms 4 was compared to it's other numbered entries, there's just something about WA 4 that genuinely really moved me. And I think the biggest reason for that was the story and setting and how it tackles themes centered around war and the struggles of living in a war-torn world. Such as how the war of Filgia had lasted for 70 years and despite the game taking place a decade after the war ended many of the people haven't fully recovered from it, and many of the towns and cities are in ruin. And as such you have things such as the elder vs. the youth, where as as lot of the older people such as the Congressional Knights who believe that humankind is doomed and is predisposed to war and should embrace it as a fact of life. While the younger people such as our main characters don’t want to believe that humans crave for war or destruction and that they can strive towards peace and it’s their child-like innocence that prevents them from lying like most adults due, and they see the beauty of the world for what it is and they hope to create a better future where they could all live in. It also tackles themes such as adulthood and what it's like to be an adult and the struggles there are at being an adult. And I also like how villains such as Lambda aren't complete one-note baddies but that they are after the same thing as the heroes but they go about it in an extreme way, this is becuase Lambda has the ability to see the future through the use of ``The Future Floating in Tears'' And as a result of worrying about the future, he carries out a reckless idea based on the theory of natural selection to encourage the evolution of humanity by causing the ARM to go out of control and placing humanity in harsh conditions. But after confronting Jude and the others, he changes his mind and decides to entrust the future to them. Not only that but he shows genuine care for his fallen allies when they are defeated by Jude’s party, and while he would sometimes be criticized for rushing things too quickly his desire to protect the future of the world is genuine. And other characters such as Gawn are also interesting since while he is shown to actully be working for the Congressional Knights he also shows genuine concern for the kids and eventually allows them to reach the final destination when realizing there true resolve. And many of the other members of the Brionac joined because they followed Lambda’s ideals for a better future and most of them die off while having rather tragic deaths. And I absolutely love this since this these are literally the same themes that I'm exploring in a book that I'm trying to write since I love when stories tackle the dangers of needless war and violence and why it’s important to learn from these mistakes in order to create a better future. Am I putting too much thought into this game? Perhaps, but unlike most people I really don’t think they’ve really taken the time to really stop and think of what the story is actually trying to tell. And in a time where the world feels more distrustful and on the brink of another world war I absolutely live for stories like this and I feel these kinds of messagings are much more important now than it was back when the game was released. But that could just be me. Overall I thought Wild Arms 4 is a really good game.

Wild Arms 4 is my favorite in the entire series. sure it does not have a world map, but atleast its a compact experience that rarely have a down time. And Yeah Raquel for the win. Also I like the Bitter sweet ending.

The music is the most memorable of this game! The story is awesome too, while the battle system is fun. Great game, but too bad it was too SHORT!

Wild Arms 5 is the best of both worlds and a great finale.

I'm playing Wild Arms 5 atm, also has a great combat system.. Love this series, when are we getting a 6? We need one now. It's been way too long. All the games in this series are pure classics.
  • I really want to give this game a shot some day, thanks for covering it.
  • @The-Cutmaster
I was so disappointed by the loss of puzzles in this game. The tools and puzzles quintessentially set Wild Arms apart from other series for me.

I did play and beat the game last year along with Wild Arms 3 (both loved them!) But even tho 3 is your better average RPG, 4 was something... I don't know... Heart breaking? There's only few RPGs that manage to make me cry only by seeing content on it or listening to the game's music such as Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinistrals, Wild Arms 4 is one of them... Will probably play it once again in the futur just as I do some old RPGs every year or so 😁

I have Vague memories about this game. I swear I played it but I just can’t remember anything about it. Time is starting to blend together in my games I’ve played. I’m losing my knowledge about.
  • I really enjoyed wild arms 4. The mixture of futuristic with the wild west setting was interesting. Liked the characters. Are they the best in wild arms? No but they were still likeable. Rachel was my favorite and i liked the arc in the game. Also liked the goon squad you go against (cant remember their name off the top of my head. Bromac or something like that). Their boss fights were fun puzzle fights. The hex Battle system was interesting interesting and gave the game a different type of strategic gameplay.only things i didnt like were the ambush system and that treasure chests could appear in a hex you werent in after battle. Meaning you wouldnt get the it. Music and the anime art style were good. The turned up the goofiness in some cutscenes but honestly i found it hilarious and enjoyable. Voice acting was ok for its time. The platforming didnt bother me. The tool system i didnt like in this game. Carrying one tool at a time was aggrivating. I love the wild arm series. while i think wa3 really captured the wild west theme, wa4 tried something different. I can respect that. For me it paid off, but i get why it didnt resonate with others. Still its a fun game i play from time to time, so ive got no regets buying it.

The combat systems are why 4 and 5 are my two favorite games in the series.
  • @ndoelgalak5121
WA4 have the best music of entire series, Kresnik and Brionac battle themes are the most impressive

TBRPG's are to the gaming community what creamed corn is to the gaming community.
  • @adambronk1633
I don't remember much of this game except the battle system and that I finished really quickly, and that disappointed me because it was like 10 hours.
  • @Jack-nj9pi
Am i the only one thay liked the search option in the previous ones 😅. I really hate how the ps2 games are so expensive to find and play as these are must plays.
  • @SiliconSlyWolf
I ended up despising this game. I remember one of the early bosses, you're told to debuff it, and if you don't do exactly that, you would be slaughtered. I had one random battle where my characters were stuck in one edge single hex with at least one enemy in the adjacent 3 hexes. I have no idea how that fight didn't end in defeat. The game also lacked polish, something present since Wild ARMs 3, with this game not even managing to spell Jude's first ability correctly. I don't think I ever got more than 5 bosses into the game.
