This episode of Ultimate Drag Race Replay is brought to you by WeatherTech: www.weathertech.com/?utm_source=hagerty&utm_medium…
First, Jason races the new Audi RS3 against an S3 to show how much quicker the 5-cylinder Audi is than its 4-cylinder brother.
The RS3 has the world's only remaining 5-cylinder engine, so Jason raced it against the first-ever production gasoline 5-cylinder — in its semifinal form in a 1991 Audi 200 20V Quattro.
Then it's time for a rev-off argument with Randy Pobst in a Porsche Carrera GT. Plus, an objective measurement of which is louder: CGT or LFA?
With special thanks to 034 Motorsport for bringing out their Audi S4!

Came here to listen to an LFA and a Carrera GT. Left wanting a 1991 Audi sedan.
-
Top tier editing. Top tier presenter/drivers. Jason & Randy are always great together. Top tier video.
-
The editing @4:56 deserves recognition... The editors and cameramen deserve a raise..... holy cow.

6:52 Musicology student here: It's really cool that you explained the part about the engine producing a musical interval. However you got it slightly wrong: the perfect 5th is produced by a 6 cylinder. That interval can sound agressive, which is why it is basically the entire identity of Rock music. The 5 and 10 cylinder engines produce a major 3rd, a very harmonious interval which can be percieved as "beautiful" and is why major chords sound like they do. I'm deeply in love with that sound (and specifically the LFA), so I didn't want to nitpick but my nerd brain felt the need to correct it.
-
Man Hagerty and Cammisa have been consistently hitting homeruns after homeruns with their content!
-
It’s not just that the LFA sounds incredible, it’s when you understand why it sounds like that you really appreciate it as a once in a generation engineering masterpiece.
-
That LFA just has some kind of star power... It is beyond breathtaking
-
That LFA sound is purely seductive to any gear head. May not be the absolute fastest, it's actually just beautiful, ease of maintenance and the sound of pure automobile symphony.
-
When Motortrend died its slow death we all missed out on a few years of Jason and Randy's shenanigans. So glad to see them back together!
-
My jaw DROPPED when the '91 Quattro launched. Fantastic tune to put all that power to pavement!
-
I would pick LFA with no hesitation
-
The LFA was tuned by Yamaha... no way the Porsche can sound better than one of the best piano makers in the world...
-
Hagerty been putting out bangers w/ Jason cammisa
-
Aside from its eargasmic sound, the LFA still looks sexy after 10 years
-
E60 M5 would have been nice to see and hear in this lineup
-
This just shows that as time marches forward so does technology which explains the Audi RS3 matching the Lexus LFA for the quarter mile. I’d bet on the LFA on the track though. The Porsche set the bar for maybe close to a decade, still a heck of a ride, if you can afford the maintenance and repairs.
-
20 years later and STILL my favorite car The Carrera GT is a masterpiece of art
-
So good. Amazing sounds, but so hard to choose between Carrera GT and LFA
-
The Editing, the Sound, the whole Video is a Masterpiece thank you guys
-
The Carerra GT Is by far one of the most beautiful cars ever made. The sound is behind words. Hats off to the Silver Audi!
