MUSICIANS LIFE Ep. 26 | It's okay to not be okay.

Things have been a little bit quiet here at Musicians Prime because... I haven't been feeling myself. Sure, I've also been a little busy, but I'm ALWAYS doing something, and just because I'm doing a million things doesn't mean I stop having time for this. I've talked about this on my vlog before, but I experience depression now and again, and with certain events that have, that depression sank in a little deeper than usual. Watch this episode as I talk through my feelings and share my thoughts about why I've been feelings down.

Music from Epidemic Sound
"Cave Descent" by Guustavv
"Sneaky Snapper 3" by Magnus Ringblom

Hi Gabi, maybe a vlog or two on your practicing habits, how you go about learning a new piece, dos and donts, tips & tricks. PS: My teacher started me on learning music pieces by heart (last week), and that was very sudden (I think she likes to torture me/us !). I'm on the Brahm's Sonata Op. 120 nยฐ 1 + Rose Etude nยฐ 1 of the 32 Etudes book + The Flight of the Bumblebee quartet version, where I play the bass clarinet. Got my work cut out ...

    1. Another excellent vlog! 2. Mental health is very important and I wish more people would take it seriously. I too have had my moments and It was really bad last year, so I made changes. I changed jobs and moved. I felt so much better, but then a family crisis happened and things were all crazy again, but I was mentally ready for it. Now I'm gigging more, I lost weight (still losing) and I'm waiting on a response to see if I got hired at university. Life could always be better but its damn good right now. 3. I like your vlog style๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ˜Š

I am sorry that you thought about suicide. I hope that you get professional help if you feel that way again. While I have never thought about suicide, I do have issues with depression and anxiety. Going to a counselor has truly helped me cope. As for feeling "meh" about things you usually feel passionate about, I am feeling that way as well. My plans for doctoral studies are not going smoothly. The dream has lost its shine, and I sometimes think of giving up. You aren't alone,Gabby.
