LYRICS:
For now we’ll lay by the ocean
For now no one is around
For now we’ll act we’re still young
For now we’ll never come down
I know you’re not empty
I know you’re still there
I know you’re not empty
I know
You still care
I remember you back in the day
Prodigy show 2003
We were camping out in Jnco jeans
The ecstasy was super clean
Higher than all of their voices
Higher than fading away
Got lost, lost in the moment
Got lost in tempting our fate
And you can rub it in my face
Sabotage all my connections
The Parasites won’t go away
They live inside you
Got nothing clean for you to taint
Already gave you a confession
Propagating every consequence
Til hate consumes you
I never wanted to be caught up in not looking back
I never wanted to be treated like a psycho
I never wanted to be singing about you again
I couldn’t face another second of the vacant threats
I couldn’t shuffle through pieces of my costume
I never wanted to be singing about you again
God damn
You caught me looking back
God damn
With no discretion
God damn
You got me going mad
God damn
It’s an obsession

So i don't know if the band actually reads these or not but this song is my sons favorite. He has extreme autism and whenever he has a meltdown I play this and he is happy again. Pretty dang cool
-
can’t lie, jon mess’ beard and red turtleneck is the best part of the video
-
This band is getting me through one of the hardest times ive ever gone through in my entire life..

the thing I like the most about Dance Gavin Dance is they're not necessarily experimental for the sake of being experimental. They try new things and are creative but the choices they make are always thought out and aren't solely to be different. The progression is logical and it isn't "lol we need more money" and that's something that's profound about a band that's stretching 8 albums. Many bands can't go past 3 albums before selling out and changing their sound to the scene's musical zeitgeist (musikgeist?) to try to squeeze as much money out before losing mass appeal, but Dance Gavin Dance has managed to keep my interest for 8 continuous albums without skipping a single beat. at no point do I ever worry about dance gavin dance's next album because I know there's going to be at least something on there that makes it worth listening, because they don't fuck over their core fan base like so many other bands

2:42 that is such a DGD's "get-ready-here-comes-the-funky-groovy-part" transition
-
Tillians voice has such depth, and this new rasp makes it even more unique. This band really never disappoints
-
A lot of bands that have been around as long as these guys are mailing it in by now, but they're still pushing out quality tracks. Good stuff.
-
RIP Tim, you will be missed. Prayers to his family, friends and fans 🖤

Can’t wait for the new album!!

God damn!

These are probably Jon's most emotional screams ever
-
So one of my favorite things about DGD is that Jon Mess uses his voice as an additional instrument. It's why what he sings is usually so inane, the words don't matter as much as the sounds they make and how that fits into the whole musical composition. In Care, Jon manages to do both: words that matter AND sound good within the song. Such extreme talent from all of them.

2:42 bring on the funk
-
All I can say about this is God Damn
-
Tilian is by far my favorite vocalist that they have had.
-
HOW THE HELL DID I MISS THIS YESTERDAY?! god damn.
-
🔥 DGD NEVER DISAPPOINTS 🔥
-
I actually stopped eating my donut so that I could hear the perfection of this song without my stupid worthless body noises getting in the way.
-
Tilians voice is just perfect <3 its so soothing, never heard a voice like it :)

Dance Gavin Dance is one of the only bands from the "hardcore/screamo" era that has managed to keep THEIR sound and still be fucking amazing and fresh. I am so so happy you guys are still making music. FUCKING AMAZING! But that's nothing new.
