New Canyon Aeroad | Behind The Scenes At Canyon HQ

Published 2024-07-19
Canyon has just launched the new Aeroad, a bike with speed embedded in its DNA. It's the fourth generation of a model that has been winning races for the last 15 years. The previous generation dominated the pro ranks, so what has Canyon done to improve it?

First off, the engineers at Canyon collaborated with pro riders and mechanics to find out exactly what they wanted in this bike. Now, we’re headed to Canyon Headquarters to discover more about its development and give you a full breakdown of what’s new in the latest Canyon Aeroad!

What are your thoughts on the Canyon Aeroad? 👇
  • We're enjoying reading all the new comments and will pass them onto the right people! We hope you enjoy the new bike if you manage to get one. ❤‍🔥
  • @nunja924
Well, there goes my college fund 😅
  • @redsaints
12 yards long, 2 lanes wide, 65 tons of American Pride! Canyonero! Canyonero!
  • @kaltonian
Finally some real collaboration from the people that matter to put this machine together, so that's a yes from me, very nice bike but something designed & built as good as this should have a more glorious colour to stand out even further from the rest of the pack
  • I LOVE my Aeroad. I got it in 2019 with rim brakes. It would be amazing to see a real world test (GCN test loop) of 1) All the generations against eachother. 2) Difference difference between the top an bottom spec Please make this video.
  • Never buy a first generation bike, wait a year or two. Canyon dropped the ball with the 2020 model, the seatpost design was flawed and makes unbearable noise. I’ve contacted canyon at least 6 diff times complaining about it and they send me a “fix” which doesn’t fix it. So now I’m stuck with a $5000 bike that ticks and creaks no matter what I do. It’s so loud that I can hear it over my headphones, and I can feel the vibration through my handlebars. Canyon won’t take it back so I’m stuck with it which really left a bad taste in my mouth.

What a beautiful machine. So proud to be a part of Canyon family, love my Endurace! And the colour, blue as sky, so nice
  • Canyon: ‘we’ve designed this bike directly based on requests from pros’ Pros: ‘we want a much lighter bike’ Canyon: ‘…… here’s 40grams’ 😂
  • @nqphoto
Just ordered a white SLX, CANNOT WAIT 🎉
  • @Epiqe
Mega cool video Alex and team!
  • Great video! Really interesting seeing the different tests they do on the bikes.
  • @JFomo
Great video. I would love to work at Canyon.
  • Those last sentences are really honest, good that canyon 'allows' this. Also nice there are no big aero/performance claims, they just made a really good bike a little better and user friendly with some welcome updates (those rubber bumbers and torx screws!!)
  • @Popcorn_Rider
Like it but by the time I replace cranks, stem, chainrings and cassette so it fits, I might as well get a Specialized or Cannondale
  • That bumper addition to the fork is brilliant. My bike has chips and lost a bit of paint from when I’ve had the wheel off to put bike into a bike bag for trains here in Japan.
  • Super interesting video! Love to see the testing of the as-built frames to ensure they are as stiff and aerodynamic as the CAD models. This video definitely helped me understand the price point of a top end frame!
  • @phil_d
Flared drops for a road bike are fantastic! I run 36cm C-2-C, but recent bought a gravel bike and put on some 38s from Profile Design. Their bars do not flare at the hoods, so you still get the narrow hood position and flare out to 46cm at the drops on the 38s. That is fantastic for comfort, stability and huge leverage for sprinting. Thankfully, they also make a 36cm bar, which will be going on my road bike!
  • @ramsden35
Love it! Still costly but not the £14k price that’s now common.
