People give a lot of flack to algorithms (often deservedly so) but sometimes it asks you a question like, "Wanna hear some Banjo music from Space?" and I really appreciate that. 🚀

Well, butter my space biscuits! Who knew a banjo could make the stars twinkle even brighter?
  • When a video has a title like "1 Hour of Ethereal Banjo Vibrations" you don't ask questions. You just click and listen.

I was born in a little system called Theta Reticuli. Daddy worked on an H3 hauler to provide for Ma and me. Never saw him much, but we never went hungry neither.”

Space bluegrass is a genre I never knew I knew I needed.

I have a week old baby. She absolutely loves this. Sometimes she just cries and cries and there is nothing to be done. After some trials, I found this channel. I put this on and walk around the room with her. It seems to calm her down. I've also sung to her a lot. That also works, but my throat is getting sore so it's nice to get help from Youtube. I really should get a banjo myself, I've played guitar for years. I got a tele for the twang, but nothing can match the banjo in that department.

Only thing this lacks is a round of, "The Hero of Canton." Stay shiny.

I'm an avid hiker and photographer in the Appalachia region of the US. This music fits so well with how I feel about these forested mountains. They're places of quiet contemplation. An oasis of serenity in an ever noiser world. Though bathed in shade, the shadow is never menacing. And when you find a particularly dark night, you should look up because you will see the stars shining; more bright and numerous than you ever thought possible. You will simultaneously feel small and yet at peace with where you are in the universe.

Folks often said space was the final frontier. Now, more than ever, I feel the truth of that statement. Out there, with no help around for millions of miles in all directions, all you can rely on is yourself and the folks nearest to you. So long as you're assuming they ain't pirates of course. Anyhow, I'm out here in the wild black yonder with a crew, hunting for ores and minerals; hoping to make some money. We find ourselves on a rock that has an atmosphere, but can't be breathed in. Despite that, the nights here are so lovely that we can't help but set up a little fire outside our base. We sit in our suits around the fire, pretending to be like desert campers back on Old Earth. Mathias, that old miner who swears up and down his ancient ancestors were mountain folks in some place called Appalachia, strings up a old banjo. Its a old family heirloom, or so he says. Either way, he sure knows how to play that thing.

Lunar banjo exists in a space between banjo and oud and I'm here for it

One thumbs up is not sufficient. I actually snorted out loud when this came across my screen but with a title like that how can you NOT click and daaaang. This is one of those “I remember where I was and what I was doing” moments when I first heard these amazing sounds. Completely mind blowing. Finding something like this makes you feel like you understand the meaning of sentient life. My eardrums thank you for the blessing
  • Met an old wanderer once. Says he forgot his name a few planets back, and why he was wandering, but to him it didn't matter. The stories he told me could've made a dozen children or so look up on wonder, or bring a tear to a mother's eye as she worried about her daughter or son out there, making a living. Hell, I got misty-eyed myself, but i blame that at being at the bottom of the bottle. As I thanked him for the stories and asked where'd we meet next, he simply winked and said, "When the time's right, I s'pose. Doesn't mean much though, there's always more stories to experience." The scary thing is though.. I think I saw the stars sway ever gently with his chords as I went back to my ship. I had heard the stories of folks being one with the stars, but him... I think the stars just told me their life stories.

My DND players are currently in a quasi western fantasy desert area. The banjo ethereal videos from this channel have done me a great service. This is the "nighttime" track. I have another This channel makes saved for regular daytime activities. Thank a million, space cowboy.

It's a long road out here, on this astral trail. But we'll make it, fellas. We'll make it.
