My parents tried for 10 years to have children. Finally, after many years of prayer and anguish, the priest in my parents' church interceded with my birthmother (who was a member of their church), who wanted to put me up for adoption. She only asked the priest, who was counseling her, to make sure my adoptive parents were devout Catholics. They were. After they adopted me, they had 5 more biological children and a set of twins! God is indeed in charge. Thank God for that priest. His name: Cardinal John O'Connor.

I have a daily cross with an adult child who dabbled in the occult with her older brother as a teenager. She had come back to the Catholic church, but is continually drawn away by her "friends" who have likewise been involved with the occult. To make matters worse, she has serious mental health issues, as did her brother who pre-deceased her. It has been difficult to ascertain what issues are more predominent: mental health, and/or spiritual. I cannot force her back to going to church, but I have encouraged her to stop her addictions to alcohol and smoking. It is tragic how the mental health system has failed my children in North America(as I lived in both the US and Canada). The priesthood is suffering with a lack of vocations- well, here again, look how we as parents live.

Fathers words on St Peter clarify so much about our fallen human nature .......and yet God loves us ! So many confuse this LOVE with an absence of JUSTICE .

Confession, Mass & Eucharist delivers me when I start struggling. What a difference to my life. When things get dark for me…I go twice a week. Come back with grace and peace, plan of action and calmness. We all live with our sins, inequities and the original sins of our bloodlines otherwise known as generational sin. Would be helpful if people knew about the lives of their deceased ancestors. You can almost plot the different spirits gaining access and how it filters down the generations. All you have to give is consent by trying once. In mental health they call it the addiction chromosome within someone’s DNA.
