Hot Wheels Packaging by Year (2017-2022) How to tell the difference!

Published 2022-02-11
Now you CAN easily tell the difference between Hot Wheels for 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 by looking at the front of the package. I did the research because I wanted to know, so maybe you do, too! Hot Wheels 1:64 scale diecast vehicles have a major update to the mainline packaging for 2022 but for 2018-2021 look pretty similar. Now you can sort your collection and you can tell which year a Hot Wheels is from easily without looking up every car!

Why could they have made it easy on us all and just put the release date on the back of the card after the country it was made in. I'm new to Hot Wheel and thought the year it was released was on the back of the package and wondered Wow why are all the cars from 2021 in the Dollar Store and Walmart. THANKS for the INFO.
  • also, is it garuanteed for the international editions to have its not the same without the flame logo?
