Not to be wet blanket, but those screws you used for joist hangers are not intended to take shear loads, they are designed for tensile loads in wood. Joist hanger nails, also known as tico nails, are designed to take shear loads with thin metal hangers. They are thicker than normal nails, and they are hardened. Aerospace fastener design was a previous job of mine.

Very nice job, huge before and after difference. I still think I would have insulated it, might be a mother in law suite someday.

Great! This open shelf space gives you more options to move stuff around. Out of all the garage organization videos I've watched, this is the best solution. Thanks. Just like my Dad used to build! <3

I did a loft in my shed also. To install the 'joists' I lapped them on to the wall studs up against the top plate. I fired (4) 3" framing nails into each connection, and then put jack studs under each joist. Shed came out nice.

Nice job! I like the idea of using the metal brackets for a quick and easy installation.

Very nice. I have a similar shed I am in need of some storage improvements (shelving) inside, so this will certainly help me in that process!
