Unbelievable! Life was much simpler before Social media.

This is just going to lead to more online addiction and depression. People interact with each other physically so less nowadays and this is just going to isolate them more🤦

After seeing how disastrous Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, TikTok etc. have been over the years Metaverse is a NO for me. 😎

When you invest, you’re buying a day that you don’t have to work.. I pray everyone reading this becomes successful.
  • Scary indeed. I regularly hike in the hills around Silicon Valley and see other hikers glued to their smart phones and seeming to ignore the natural beauty around them. The book "Irresistible: The Rise of Addictive Technology and the Business of Keeping Us Hooked" by Adam Alter, and the book "The Attention Merchants; The Epic Scramble to Get Inside Our Heads" by Tim Wu, are excellent reads about corporations' attempts to replace reality with their products. Thanks for highlighting this issue.
  • If this was just a huge game i would love it but the fact that it takes over the real life and work is scary

Many years ago I discovered digital art and joined an online art community.I spent so much time drawing online the first few weeks that I started seeing the environment around me in pixels..I even dreamt in pixels. My mind got completely messed up from something as ,seemingly, innocent as drawing. So, personally I don't find the metaverse concept tempting at all..our brains are not ment for things like that.
  • I dont think even for one minute in using this virtual world. I am a independent traveller who along with my husband and son love to trekk for different countries and culture, smell their culture and atmosphere, meeting local people. We are very attached to our real world. Our problem is our son who is a teen and the place he meets your his friends is in gaming virtual place!

Well said“imprisoned Reality“. Technologie has already made lots of ppl feel lonely and when things like metaverse comes then almost all humans will be imprisoned.

Palki, just love the topics and the way you present it - the diction, the language you use. I use your episodes as listening exercises for my students.

    "IMPRISONED REALITY" nailed it! 🥰👊🇮🇳 Palki#1 🥂
  • I used to hate watching and reading news because it all felt so negative and narrow minded. There was so much coverage on some topics and not others that truly influenced our lives. But Ms Palki's reporting and this channel truly have made news an educational experience once again

At 75 I was born into a world where 'tech' was the radio. You had to actually use your imagination to create a reality in your head of what was going on at the other end of the radio wave... just like books. But then you actually had to go to work to live and interact with real human beings. And mate, and breed and create families. All that it going out the window. If you are young, population collapse is your future... not mine... Why have to go through all the aggravation and annoyance of interaction with real people when you can just deal with the ones created in your head, ... or device. Didn't they used to call that schizophrenia?

In a cartoon the son asks his mother : "mom when have I been downloaded" ? The shattered mother had to reply : "Dear, you have not been downloaded ! You are born !" Welcome in metaverse.
  • You are my favorite Palki mam .I watch Gravitas plus just because of you.Very informative.Keep it up.
  • I have been in the IT industry for 30 years. I am also a spiritual person. I believe that ultimately the metaverse will be an "escape" from the real world. However, you have to wonder, if we can make a real world, that we won't feel like we have to escape from. I love video games, but this seems that it's just another digital blinder pulled over our eyes to fool us even further.

"...an imprisoned reality." Very good take. Thanks for your message!
