Eh, actually, Bloodborne HAS weapon types. In the game, the weapons are separated by church weapons, workshop weapons, vileblood weapons, etc. šŸ¤“ā˜ļø

ahh i remember the early days of ds3 when everyone had the dark sword in pvp
  • You never mentioned a best Straight Sword for DS3, so hereā€™s my two cents: Anriā€™s Straight Sword - easy to get - busted ass luck scaling - passive HP regen - buffable - stance weapon art

You surprised me with Elden Ring tbh, I was fully expecting Katanas. Like you said though there's a ton of good weapon classes in Elden Ring, and also a ton of terrible classes.
  • @GoobieWoobie69
I agree with DS3 I switched off the twin blades for a great sword But I found the quickness of these weapons allowed so many trades that the great sword just couldnā€™t without getting hit
  • @shwenty
Great video as always, I was expecting DS2 to be the hammer but yeah thrust weapons with the leo ring is busted.
  • What kind of damage, requirements and scaling would a Youwy's Greatsword have? (it drops from the secret DLC boss after Messmer, Miyazaki told me)

The R2 R2 on the great scytheā€™s follow up melts but dps wise are u sure the Falchion wonā€™t out DPS Ultras. Great video, really like how through these videos we see how many great weapons were in these games and how underrated some weapon classes are
  • @WinstonWolfe21
I agree straight swords in DkS3 are just beastly the only one that got nerfed was the cringiest one that I never used so the class still stands tall today. Lothric or longsword are an amazing side weapon choice just for emergencies if u wanna mix it up.

DeS - agree. DS - imo curved swords are better. Falchion and Painting guardian sword with weapon buff has extream dps, fast moveset and easy to use. And you can get Falchion right after asylum demon. DS2 - agree. Actually DS2 is the only game in this list where piercing damage is strong (really strong). In ER it's absurdly overrated. It's godlike in PVP, but in PVE counter hit happens only when you trade hits. And you don't want to trade with bosses. My 2nd place goes to twinblades. Red iron twinbade is amazing, Santier's spear before mundane infusion nerf was absolutely broken. DS3 - agree. But! Sellsword and Warden Twinblades are still by far the best pve weapon. As weapon CLASS straight swords are absolutely the best. ER - completely disagree. The only good thing about greatswords is special L2. Curved swords are the best. Bandit's and Scavenger's are absurdly good. Get 2 copies of both, use occult infusion (Bandit's lose tiny amount of damage compared to keen infusion) with jumping attack, consecutive hits and buffs after bleed proc. If your target isn't immune to bleed - Scavengers, single seppuku to proc bleed buffs, spam jump attacks. Bleed is nice extra damage, but it's here to keep AR buff. And it doesn't matter that 2+ bleeds take longer to proc - with such high DPS every boss dies before 2nd bloodloss happens. And if your target is immune to bleed - Bandit's swords still has impressive DPS. And don't sleep on Raptor's talon. It's not THAT good in late game (not NG+, but late part of playthrough), but is copletely busted through early and midgame. And if anyone says other claws are better than Raptors - spit in the face of this freak.

9:58 I think they are still the best for poke type ashes except for giant hunt which you can put on colossals. Impaling thrust on greatsword (/lance/heavy thrusting sword) is the highest poise damage per second ash in the game I beleave.
  • Super respectable list. And in a way itā€™s also a reminder that most of the weapons of the game are viable. I always laughed at the Longsword in all the games. Because I truly feel like the game was balanced with that weapon as the base line. Even with Sekiro, his Katana has the speed/range of the Longsword despite being a Katana. So itā€™s only fair that after saying thatā€¦ Elden Ring has the less impressive Weapon Arts in the game. Only the Sword of Night and Flame was broken and it ended up being a victim of Nerfs.

What's the best class in each souls game? Claymore. (I miss the DS2 moveset) My favorite weapons in souls besides Baemore and katanas are In DS1 were Baller Swag Sword, Golem Axe, Curved swords in DS2 - bandit axe, twinblades, greatswords, hammers and lance. (Wasn't a fan of thrusting weapons) Ds3 - Lothric SS, Carthus CS, greatswords, Sellswords (duh), BKH and the big hammer with square head just because ripostes looked so good with it. In ER - pretty much everything. I love the variety. I used greatswords, great hammers, curved swords and spears the most, but I've played around with just about everything. Its a rare game where fists are amazing. Whips are really good. Daggers can put in work. Even using just shields or bows can carry you through the game. Theres not a class i can think of (crossbows i guess) that you can't find at least one way to make it really powerful.

I suppose for bloodborne, you can take each damage type and kinda judge a class based on that. Threaded cane can be under Peirce as well as the rifle spear
  • Would katana be strongest overall for every game? Could even include sekiro and bloodborne kinda
  • @xxcoolboy69xx64
I would argue that curved swords are better than straight swords in ds3. They donā€™t have as much variation in their moveset as the straight swords do, but in a game where you practically only need r1 attacks I think that doesnā€™t matter much. The far superior speed and the absurdly low commitment to the two handed r1 attacks allow you to play very aggressively and makes punishing bosses attack windows so much easier. Even the smallest attack windows are punishable since it takes such a short time for the animation to complete. Besides, the curved sword weapon class also has the sellsword twinblades, which is undeniably the best weapon in the game for pve.

Interesting to see the Greatswords being ranked the best in Elden Ring, I haven't used them since they were buffed but I wasn't impressed with them when I used them for my first time playing the game. But it's good to know the buffing helped make them a more viable option now.
