This was the moment where shredder wasn't joking around, but he was killed

This is my favorite story of the turtles because itā€™s so grounded, dark and realistic.

I always loved this comic, and you can tell that the attempt on this story was to be a one shot thing, but it picked up quite well. I think that if Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird would had more knowledge of Japanese culture and lore, they could had grown the story of the Shredder as an even more formidable antagonist. I mean, Splinter never even met the Shredder after he was mutated, so there was a lacking of personal grudge between them which in a way was sort of presented and laid better in the 80s cartoon and forward. I have been able to enjoy the many media of the TMNTs, minus a few of them like the Bay Films, The Last Ronin, the recent kids' movie, partially ROTTMNTs (Till Leo became the Leader), partially the 3rd Live action film and most definitely TMNTS the Next Mutation, and some of the IDW comics stories (though a lot of them are quite good). Yet it is great that this franchise has been able to last so long and continues to bring stuff for different people to enjoy. That being said, I believe that Shredder is a character that has been as iconic as the Turtles themselves and as such their link as antagonists is very important, especially the grudge between him as Splinter/Hamato Yoshi, which was excellent in the 2012 series. I hope to see more new stuff that makes the Turtles as cool as they are.

The original Mirage TMNT is my all time favorite comic book and you know it had one of the most badass villains with the Shredder because they had to put him down twice and neither version (full human or worm clone) had any super powers to speak of, just whup ass ninjitsu skills. Well, the first Shredder did, but the worm clone's skills were kind of lacking to the point that even Casey was able to beat him fairly easily. Anyway, the first issue was, is and always will be a legendary landmark in comic book history and I'm glad that Eastman and Laird were able to continue it in a series because it's one of the most awesome comic books ever written IMHO.

The original comics seemed to really take Donnie and his weapon seriously. It's too bad that the first few cartoons couldn't seem to do that too. In 2012, Donnie's weapon was only at its best when he was using the blade, which in my opinion took the point out of the blunt weapon. In Rise, I believe when Donnie was using it (not the tech-bo, but his regular bo-staff in season 2) it really showed technique, and the same for mutant mayhem.

Good fight. The Mirage Turtles didn't fool around.

When the evil Shredder attacks These turtle boys don't cut him no slack
  • @SergV.-SergioV.
Don was the last one to strike which makes sense since he is the most logical and fast. Don's bo staff is also the strongest weapon out of the ninja tutles!

This moment was referenced in the 2000's and 2012 animated shows.

I feel despite the comics being mostly unknown for a good long while, (I mean I got into Tmnt through the 2007 movie and the 4kids show, when I was 7 and discovered the comics when I was 12) the word about them is getting around.
  • @Abigail-xe9hc
Yeah,And they wanted to avenge Hamato Yoshi. That fight was bloody
  • Like 2003 turtles and 2012 turtles is still the only ones that killed shedder
