Massive Chest that has basically unlimited storage and automatically sorts all my items

This MINECRAFT HARDCORE SERIES is inspired by Wadzee, MumboJumbo, Grian, and Sandiction! Instead of being the Hermitcraft SMP, this series is similar to a MINECRAFT CHALLENGE video because it is HARDCORE MINECRAFT! aCookiegod also with his hardcore Minecraft videos This is similar to my 100 DAYS in MINECRAFT HARDCORE but better!

Im so glad how this chest turned out in the end, I literally never have to worry about storage ever again. What do you guys think of it? Also sadly there will be no upload next Saturday. Me and the team have been grinding super hard to get these out and need a little breather. When we start up again we will be stronger than ever so don’t worry 💪 Thanks for all the support lately aswell!

On a previous server, i have create a giant sorting house too (over 700 different items was sorted). There is some small things you can add to your system to simplify your Minecraft life : 1) As filter items, i use Bamboo renamed as "Filters" AND as ever, the first filter is on the bamboo "Filers", so it do not jam the system if a bamboo fall in it. 2) On the top line of Hopper where items are travelling, add some comparator (and/or Redstone Lamp). So when items are pathing inside hoppers you will see where they are moving. 3) When i arrive in the building after a mining session, i was placing my Shulker Box on some hopper disguised as laboratory table. Shulkers automatically dump items into chests before they go into the sorting system. Once empty, the Shulker are ejected and collected by other Hoppers and moved to a special chest located near the exit of the building. Like this, I arrive in the building, I put down my Shulker and when I leave the building, I take my empty Shulker. 4) You can have a storage of ten double chests for each of the items that you filter, but always plan a security system to detect if one of your storage lines is not full. Particularly for stone or dirt. 5) Add a sort system too for your Iron farm to separate Iron and the flowers. You can automatically split the flowers for create Bones meal and keep some flowers. 6) I use a pattern of torch every 5 blocs for count size or my structure, it help for build A video exemple : https://youtu.be/RhEFhin_7ZA?list=PLEqHNdqFSH8K0YfCiy9XgnxeyKqd8x_TF&t=57

As much as I like the good old Impulse sorters, they can only sort for 1-1 type of item each. The multisorters that are spreading around on youtube like wildfire in the storage technology updates, can sort for any number of item types that you can store in a doublechest. (obviously, only stackable ones) Another note, hopprs cause lag. At least put composters on top of the hoppers that are not supposed to be pulling items from above; or even better, switch them out for waterstreams, that cause just about no lag at all. The idea of building huge blocks with the actual functionality of the blocks is nice, but I'm not sure that this does justice to a storage block like a chest.

You need to build wood farm dude (if you can)

going to take so long to sort items with that hopper line but, hay at least you wont overwhelm the slow sorting hoppers using hopper minecart filters is allot faster since they can do 8x hopper speed, realistically you still need to get those items back into hoppers eventually. i normally use 4 hoppers giving my 4x hopper speed sorters, which can still be tileable, although it is a bigger system you can technically make your current system faster by using a water channel and just dumping items in with droppers, which works really well when you are sorting random different items, that lets you parallelize your sorting. so a single sort is still slow, but you can at least sort multiple items at the same time, rather then just one item at a time this however has the downside of overwhelming a single hopper when you are sorting "100 stack of wood" for example, quite often items will get missed to fix this you either just use faster sorters like the minecart system or, you need to loop your items a few times around the system to make sure everything gets sorted, which then gives you further issues since you can no longer easily sort out unstackable items, it can be done with some basic timers but, it is kind of a messy solution i would highly recommend chunk loading your current sorting system, even if it makes your world more laggy, just so the items can be sorted while you are away

Instead of using named filter items, you can put 2 of the item you want sorting into the first hopper slot, then 1-1-1-2 of any item that stacks to 16 (Snowballs, eggs, signs) and it filters items the same way. This is so you don't have to hold 41 of each item extra, which is good for valuable stuff like beacons, wither skulls etc
  • @TheRetroVoyager
You can set the Auto sorter to have less than 41 of the sorted item in it... My system I have set up won't work for your layout of chests, but set your repeaters to 4 tick delay and add a few more of the "Filler Items" into the hopper, in a stack. You will need to adjust the number for items that stack up to only 16, for some reason they work differently for comparators. With my system, the chests are one block apart from each other on each side. So my red stone is comparator, into 2 red stone, into repeater on a 4 tick delay, going into a block that powers redstone dust. Under the comparator stuff, I have 2 repeaters on 4 ticks, obviously going into the redstone torch. Inside the hoppers, for 64 stackable items, I have 5,5,4,4 of my placeholders. For the 16 stackables, it's 2,2,1,1. Don't ask why, that's just how it works. WIth that set up, it's leaving 1 of the sorted item in the hopper and will only break, if I'm an idiot and put the specific item with the name "placeholder" on it into the chest that needs to be sorted

Personally I love smooth sandstone for a floor - it sill looks clean with a little more texture. I use white concrete or calcite for ceilings though for the perfectly clean look. Cool vid though 👍
  • That is such a big chest, at least you’ll have more room for more items in this big chest, I like how you sorted your items in every chest and I also had to make separated chests for every items
