  • Give me a consistent QB everyday of the week. One who can follow the game plan and help his team get a win. It got Purdy to a 4 -2 playoff record 2 conference title games and the SB in his first 2 years.

Purdy not only led the QB's in almost every stat last year, but what doesn't get recognized as much about Purdy are that he processes and goes through his progression so quickly, that he's built trust better than other QB's on where his players are going to be - ends up looking like he's super-accurate (and he is), that he throws an extremely catchable ball - rarely a rocket-bullet but usually a nice rainbow that just drops perfectly where it needs to be, just over and beyond defender's reach, and lastly his super-quick 10-yard split gets him out of trouble and allows him to scramble - while still looking downfield for opportunities to make plays out of nothing. His top speed is not great, and he does get chased down from behind. But that initial escape velocity is a game-changer and matches Lamar's. It is that super-catchable ball he throws, his escape velocity from crumbling pockets (he had the #24 pass protection O-line last year) and his super-quick processing and consistent accuracy are what puts him on the top shelf or at least getting there. A lot of those top listed QB's are just inconsistent. Yes, they CAN put a team on their back but just as often don't. Many of those have incredible arms, but also throw a lot of INT's. Etc. I think the top shelf has to have consistency as one of the required qualifications, rather than occasionally being a super-star and saving a game for a team here or there. Josh Allen is a force of nature, but not consistent. Aaron Rogers is a true pioneer of the position, but not a great team leader who under pressure picks favorites to throw to and punishes those who drop his passes by refusing to throw to them which actually hurts the overall team (and why Rogers doesn't have a good post-season record). I'll take consistency and leadership over arm strength and unique non-team-oriented talents. Football is a team sport. Top QB's must be top TEAM players, not just top arm talent or unique athletes.
  • the are 4 tiers.....1st Mahomes 2nd Allen Burrow Jackson Stafford 3rd Rodgers STroud Lawrence Purdy Hurts Herbert Love 4th the rest
  • @tomgarcia1354
Don't understand why Colin hates on Brock. He took his team to Superbowl so that means he's less talented.....
  • @thejaggerrr
Herbert, Hurts and Lawrence signed extensions but they don't kick in until next season or the season after. All of them have cap hits under 20 mill this season
  • @Trublu2323
Minimize your screen by 50% I want to see Collin more than whoever you are
  • @geoycs
How do you watch the herd original
  • @yngaustin
Am I the only person that thinks Trevor Lawrence is crazy overrated?
  • It's scary how the cheifs are re tooling and restocking an already all time team while still in a sb window. Is Brett Veach and Andy fortune tellers or something lol
  • He made this after Lawrence contact . Reason he said not getting paid yet is because the extension doesn’t kick in yet and they not a big cap hit yet .
  • @travisoshea
And what a great objective take on Purdy. Man, I wish more people thought like this, cough cough hahahaha
  • @geoycs
How to watch the herd stuff without the commentary?
  • Hurts aint overcome nothing. Lamar is bad in the playoffs. Herbert and Lawrence are the typical DRAFT STATUS QBs that get million passes because of where they was drafted, but with minimum results and blame deflecting. It's BS narratives about other QBs that yall just keep trying to put down cause it's clicks, but the facts are Colin is a Hot Take guy. Eye test is ruining yalls opinions on actual QB play.
  • Hurts hasnt shown he can overcome anything, he had his best season on a super team where everything went perfectly. Last season showed he cant overcome things not being perfect.
  • @jal2550
Putting Herbert in the same category as the rest of the "talented" qbs is an Insult.
