VILLAGES OF DORSET UK

Published 2020-08-05
Picturesque Villages in Dorset, including Shaftesbury, a small Saxon hilltop town in North Dorset, is most famous for its iconic image of Gold Hill. Standing 700 feet above sea level, it was over these famous cobbles that a boy pushed his bicycle (with a loaf of Hovis in the front basket) in the iconic television advert of 1973.

  • Watching the places of Dorset from India has given me immense pleasure even though it is certain that I cannot visit during my life time. I have started liking the place because of kids mayor. Thanks that your description & video has given me a feeling as if I am moving with you as my guide. May GOD bless you.
  • This is beautiful - I stayed in Dorset on holiday lots of times at The Sefton Hotel (it is now a block of flats). I often wonder where Mr Elliott (the hotel owner) is now.
