HOGHWASH! El Mayo has an army of bodyguards, he would not go anywhere alone. The most logical explanation is that he is old and very sick, he can barely stand for a few minutes at a time and he needs to have dialysis. He knows he’s dying and negotiated with the DEA to make it look like he was captured in exchange for the opportunity to se Vicentillo, his son who is in the witness protection program, before he passes. Nayi is friends with the Chapitos and he got them to go along with the plan.
