They could’ve just make the schedule something like this… Mon-Thurs 5pm - Dexter’s Laboratory 5:30 - Ed Edd n Eddy 6pm - Billy and Mandy 6:30 - Samurai Jack Fridays have a classic CN original movie or air an underrated cartoon like Robot Jones, Time Squad, or Sheep in the Big City.

Variety is something that TV programmers do not care about anymore.
  • @kennethnero2011
They need to make Checkered Past longer 4-10pm and add more different shows like Puffy Ami yumi, My gym partner, Robot boy, etc

Face it, Checkered Past should be move to Cartoon Network so Cartoon Network can have its extra hours back.

I think the new strategy for Checkered Past is bad. We need more variety on Checkered Past and the time slot needs to be expanded. We need shows such as Codename Kids Next Door, Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, Fosters Home for the Imaginary Friends, Ben 10 Original Series, Ben 10 Alien Force, Ben 10 Ultamite Alien, The Secret Saturdays, Xaolin Showdown, Juniper Lee, Teen Titans 2003 series, Static Shock and Pokemon The Indigo League. They should also bring back CN City fully for Cartoon Network and Adult Swim.

We’re never getting Chowder in this block, are we… ?

Cow and Chicken is a little underrated but i would rather have regular show or sym bionic titan.
  • As much I really loved seeing all these classic shows from my childhood, I agree that they need to make changes to add variety to the mix like bringing in Johnny bravo, og PPG, Ben 10, Knd, Samurai Jack, og teen titans, Robot Jones, chowder and Flapjack for the schedule from 5-9pm
  • Did you know that in other countries during the 90s Cartoon Network used to share channel space with TNT? Cartoon Network would be from 5 AM till 9 PM and TNT would be from 9 PM till 5 AM.

they should have added the Classic Powerpuff Girls Series on Checkered Past block

This is why they should pay more attention to Boomerang which should've been rebranded to checkered past and given the Powerhouse or CN City Treatment.

Here's the thing: Checkered Past isn't meant to be watched every day. People seem to believe that CKP is going by Toonami rules, where they need to keep adding additional shows and rtating schedules and the block will fail if they don't, and that doesn't seem to be the case. They seem to be focusing on a very specific era of CN. The purpose of CKP isn't to showcase every single thing that's ever aired on Cartoon Network. It never was. There are some shows which just aren't going to be seen on the block for various reasons: Powerpuff Girls and Foster's both have new shows in development on the Cartoon Network side of the channel; as such, the reruns of those won't be featured on CKP because Warner Discovery doesn't want any overlap between CN and Adult Swim; if a show is airing on AS, you won't see it on CN and vice-versa. Cartoon Network buried Megas XLR; the creators are currently trying to get a new version of the series launched without CN's involvement. The dispute between CN and the show's creators ensures that Megas will definitely not turn up on CKP. Sym-Bionic Titan, Generator Rex, The Life and Times of Juniper Lee and The Secret Saturdays seem like longshots as well; those shows haven't seen the light of day in years; if a show goes 10 years or longer without resurfacing on a channel, it's likely that it's been written off, in other words the show can't air on CN, AS, Boomerang or on anything else owned by WB. Realistically, the only other shows I could see being added to the rotation are Codename: Kids Next Door and Johnny Bravo, and each come with hitches: KND gets more serialized as it goes on, and WBD seems to have some sort of ax to grind with Johnny; they seem more content to just sweep JB under the rung these days. The other shows are either too recent or simply aren't popular enough.
  • Boomerang was pretty much also abandoned as where every classic would be running there.
  • It's on [adult swim]. The same they do with their own and fox cartoon shows by airing back to back episodes. It was going to happen at some point.
  • I'm not surprised at all by this move. They dangle a carrot in front of us and take it down different paths. Then, they take it away completely. The higher ups at WBD don't like kids. I blame David Zaslav for everything bad that happens at Warner Bros. He scrapped Coyote Vs Acme as a tax write off! The cancelled Scoob 2 and Batgirl. David Zaslav is like Thanos. Snap and it goes away. Give Warner Bros a CEO that actually cares about the talent and sees the bigger picture.
  • Hey dc network! I wanted to tell you this first but you inspired me to make my channel. I've been cataloging the checkered past schedule daily and from what I've noticed is maybe this is all part of an experiment . It's a possibility in ( thsory ) they are testing the success of switching a single show compared to two shows at once . The other thing i thought of was where regular show is it's kind of like an extended part of checkered past except it represents something a little newer . So maybe that's part of the schedules future plan is to use that time slot .

If Boomerang can have their own individual channel, adult swim could have it too. I’ve been saying it to everyone I know all the time. That way the block can be expanded. More anime and adult cartoons 24/7
