  • What you might find easy to remember about British silver coins is pre 1920 are sterling and pre 1947 are 50%. I've been a coin collector since childhood and it was only later on that got into bullion. I like the 1947 Panama Balboas myself, the Mexican balance scale Onzas too.
  • Big like number 32! Spectacular video and thank you so much for sharing!
  • I love the foreign silver - all the cool designs. Whenever my LCS buys foreign silver, he sets it back for me to look through. Because he does that for me, and because he always lets me have it at melt, I will always buy all the foreign silver he puts in front of me. But for the lot you bought, I think $4 over melt was well worth it. I'd pay that, and be happy to have all of those coins in my stack. But it is nice when they have the purity right on the coin. Nice pick up.
  • I love finding any silver content coins and I think you’ve done well there.Regarding UK sterling coins your best to look for would be pre 1920 crowns👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
  • Love the coins. You did great brother! Now I want to go to my LCS! Those Panama coins are nice!
  • @MichiStacker
I REALLY need to come raid your coin shop. LOL I do stack SOME foreign coins (other than the one ounce coins), but not regularly.
  • @veritasfiles
Not a bad idea to have some of the lower purity Silver. I don't actively seek it out, but I have several ounces of foreign Silver that vary in their Silver content. One of these days, I'm also going to pull the trigger on stacking some 80% Canadian Silver dollars. I've always wanted to do that, but I've been so focused on furthering my goals with 90%, bullion, and Gold that I've not taken the time and currency to actually get it done. So this is stuff that I would kind of passively collect, but I probably wouldn't go seek it out. I actually have a lot of Nazi coins because nobody ever wants them, and they usually sell for super cheap, as if they are cursed or something. But I also have a lot British, Swiss, and even Greek Silver.

:stayhome: Look at you with that Onza! You did the exact right thing: Ask. It's one of the most powerful tools we have as stackers and collectors. And I don't think there is anything wrong with a big handful of obsolete foreign silver. But I draw the line at about 80% and I try to stay within a few countries/purities. Too many purities, too many countries just winds up being cumbersome and really tricky to calculate weight and value. Agree with staying with the bigger pieces. Crown or half crown size. Best part? You can touch it with bare hands! 😍 I'll tag you in a picture later this evening.
  • Really liked the last coin u showed with the Mexican mint mark. And once you said that they are way more valuable. I feel like you got a really good deal paying only four dollars above Spot.
  • Im looking to add the one with the scale to my collection but I'm like you not a big coin collector but have quite a few... 🇺🇲🦅⚖️
  • @TheogRahoomie
That was a good deal cause those balboas alone would get you a nice premium if sold on eBay or to a collector.
  • @THECRANKYONE
As Michi says.. Silver is silver!! I love it all! Nice Florin and shillings and 1/2 Crowns!! Frech coins are often overlooked. Australian coins are among the wormds best! Those are all artwork coins, imho. That's a dream coin. Shop for me!! 😂😠 Balboa are classic New World coins, may have been minted here? They are hard to find these days!
  • Maybe the VN is meant to be read as UN as in one uno balboa. And as you noted if there were 5 of those one balboas adding up to more than the 5 balboa. That is probably indicating inflation as a Balboa would have been equivalent of a 5 balboa divided into a smaller amount of silver to equal one unit of currency. Interesting.
