Idea: develop new edible vaccines that could be manufactured using household fermentation methods/products, such as yogurt or beer, within developing countries communities. Imagine now immunization becomes as easy as making and eating yogurt. No expensive equipment; no Ph.D. required. Just a milkmaid with the help of a cow could produce a vaccine for a whole village!
Developing countries could now engage in vaccine production and distribution, millions of lives would be saved and large populations would improve their health and productivity tremendously.
Zorina shows how easy it is to ferment yogurt, a traditional household "biotechnology", while Victor clearly displays his preference for ingestible fermentation products over a shot in his arm.
