Thanks for watching and for all the awesome comments everyone! Are we reaching peak TV awesome? Or is there still a ways to go? Are people too focused on brightness and color volume? Let me know!

Competition between brands is always great to see (even if it is marketing). Ultimately we the consumer will benefit.

Caleb, these are some of my favorite of your videos, explaining the market and new tech. I care about the accurate colors. I like that these companies are putting more attention on audio, too. Keep ‘em coming!
  • Curious when QD OLED becomes semi-affordable. $3K MSRP for a 65" is tolerable for me once I can get it cheaper as an open box or used model. Though I tend to avoid the first two years of a new technology to skip all the early adopter challenges. Meaning 2024 is the first year I'd consider QD OLED if pricing is right.

As a long time plasma user I’ve been waiting for the right time to move to oled. I will now wait till I see QD in person.

More content like this please! This was like a masterclass in display screens.

I still have my LG OLED 55" B7 from 2018 and it still looks amazing to me. No burn-in issues; despite using it as a gaming monitor/TV. The only reason to upgrade would be for the 120/144htz refresh with higher nits. So if QD-OLED is able to produce this then let that be next great thing in displays. Also display port as an option rather than the default HDMI.

I just got my Sony A80J about 7 months ago. Zero buyers remorse. The Sony has an amazing picture. QD might be better, but I am still very happy with my TV.

bought my cx 65 in may 2021 and easily the best purchase I have made , since the sony bravia 32" I had bought in 2008 , still running strong. already clocked 1400 hrs on the cx.

In tests, people can rarely see the distinctions manufacturers make. Most content that's worth watching is compromised by the way compression works, there's an enormous placebo effect. The biggest factors affecting the impression images make in terms of immersion are brightness, saturation, field of view and frame rate

I love how tv companies make such a huge deal over advances in technology that make differences the vast majority of consumers will not understand or notice , it's great ! I love qd oled but for the price I always just get my led tvs
  • @Carlbali
I loved this! You explained it so well. I work in the electronic dept at Walmart, and even though our store does not have these tv's I get customers occasionally asking questions about them. Thanks for helping me be a little more informed.

I literally just bought an LG C1 not 2 hours ago, and then this video pops up as recommended in my feed. lol Good video- very informative. I still feel good about spending way more than I wanted to on a new TV.
  • @JollyJeepers
Thanks for the breakdown, Caleb! Really insightful!
  • @dayko.
I honestly only want to know one thing. Do these still have ABL (auto brightness limiter)? When the screen is ~60% or more white/bright regular OLED TV's dim down automatically and it always pulled me out of the experience. Is that gonna change with these?
  • @OceanicOsprey
I absolutely LOVE all the TV talk and reviews, Caleb does such a great job!
  • @joshpenner5662
Caleb's positive energy is honestly a great part of day.
  • @h2porto
It’s exciting to think about having crazy brightness with oled contrast to boot but vanilla oled will continue to improve and get cheaper. Which will keep it competitive. At the end of the day the new tech will just be cost prohibitive at first as is the case with every new style of display. I spent $900 on a 32” 1080i widescreen crt tv back in the day lol. Now a 32” tcl is $150anywhere….. point being oled isn’t going anywhere because it’s just now becoming accessible to average joe tv guy.
  • @Gage274
Great analysis. It is always helpful hearing an informed perspective, when deciding what TV to upgrade too next.
  • @yankeesfan8
This has become my favorite source for TV related content. Can't wait for QDOLED!
