Nylah/Keon straight up gave me child actor vibes 2 stories in. Those kids are always more adult seeming because they work, and they are trained to give these perfect on cue lines, especially theater kids. When Keon looked over "at his mum" it was so like, "let me show emotion at this cue." I clocked Elyacia because her favorite thing about her mum was how when she prayed her mum gave her hugs after which she really liked, and then the mom popped out with a whole Jesus statue. Cut to Nylah telling that weird story about a black Jesus in a pencil store in Spain. Improv much? Plus although her mum tried to not have any emotions during this whole thing, she did react strongly to her daughter saying she beat her.
