Please read the description! I'm sorry that I couldn't put it all in one video, but Movie Maker's render always ended up unreadable whenever I'd try. So, in the end, I had to split it in two parts.

The final floor of the Dream Den is home to the final boss of Pikmin 2, a colossal dweevil that has taken several treasures and is using them as weapons.

I want you to ignore everything I said in this video. The best strategy is to use yellows to take down every weapon, starting froom the monster pump and finishing with the shock therapist. I'm sure you can figure out the logic behind this, unlike me when doing that battle...

I love how you get four big and expensive items worth 1000 each, and then you bring Louie in and it's just like "King of Bugs, 10 pokos". Louie's life is literally worth less than a bottlecap or a battery. In fact, fruit is worth more than Louie.

Titan Dweevil: is slowly dying Pikmin: time to sing
  • I love that when the dweevil uses the flame thrower (or Flare cannon as it’s called in game), it gives you the most horrifying melody out of all the weapons, the thought of this song playing while there are many pikmin running around, letting out panicked screams as they get caught on fire sends chills down my spine

3:57 I love how he dropped everything to save that one white pikmin aww 😊

I remember when I didn't have enough pikmin left to carry all the treasure back. Sad times.

Good job, you discovered pikmin can drown on the final boss fight πŸ˜†
  • @SantasElf
I know from the title that there were no pikmin deaths, but I damn near panicked when all the yellows were on fire and you couldn't get up, my god

I honestly support the idea that Louie was controlling the Dweevil. Now, I know the Dweevil still attacks you if you revisit its cave without collecting the treasure, but I have a very simple answer for that: It's just for gameplay purposes, therefore it has no bearing on the plot.

If Louie WAS controlling the dweevil, I really don’t blame him for doing this. I mean. Imagine being ditched on an alien planet by your co-worker where nearly everything wants to kill you and you have no resources whatsoever. I’d be totally pissed
  • I find the music of Pikmin 2 fascinating, but this boss fight has got to be my favorite use of its music. Each attack has its own music track and essentially a "personality". The fire attack especially displays the true danger of the attack itself in its powerful, driving, dissonance.

16:05 I like how all the pikmins sing along just how we beat this boss and every one of them survived

I really like how you acknowledge that the Shock Therapist is the most dangerous weapon, then make destroying it a first priority. A surprising number of players save it for last, which I always thought to be a little counterproductive.

Details for 2:32: Shock Therapist will throw mines and electric current not separately but simultaneously; Monster Pump will launch bubble attack faster; Flare Cannon has no particular change; and Comedy Bomb produces not 3 gas waves but 4.

13:13 - The pikmin start singing as a giant spider tries to kill them.

First time I fought this boss. I stripped all the treasures off it, and when it was on its second phase (harmless) I took the treasures, and just left louie.

I remember seeing the Titan Dweevil for the first time and I barely scraped by with like 20 Pikmin or something like that and when it got out of the ground. I went pale like a ghost. One of the most terrifying childhood gaming moments,
  • Man, this was the ultimate boss of this Nintendo game series. It basically had all the elements of different Pikmin, it was great and terrifying to see this bosses different attack skillsπŸ‘πŸΌ
  • The Dweevil's entrance is just SO COOL. Seeing Louie potentially in distress, a huge mountain of treasure, and then up come the legs. Crazy shock value on the first one with how huge the Dweevil is, and then you find out that a Pikmin Boss HAS **WEAPONS**. (Technically there are one or two other enemies with proper weapons and one is a Boss, but they've got nothing on this guy.)
