In this episode, we drive through the Bridger-Teton National Forest to the Monument Ridge Trail. The Monument Ridge Trail is a Jeep Badge of Honor trail and the reason we drove into Wyoming from California, camping and boondocking on our way. Monument Ridge Trail is fairly easy when it's dry, but rain makes it nearly impassible. We found this out on our way to the trail.

Stuck in the mud. Yes, bogged with our Patriot Campers X1-H in the middle of nowhere with no support, no cell signal and no tree or rock to winch off of. Luckily in the mud, maxtrax are effective recovery tools. That doesn't mean that recovery is easy necessarily.

Once we were once again on our way, we made our way up to the Monument Ridge lookout. An adventure for sure and a place we hope to return to again someday.

  • You guys seem like real smooth folks, really enjoying your videos. You've got a beautiful family, thank you for sharing your adventures.
  • The sound when the bogged maxtrax came free from the mud! Man that was some sludge you guys found yourselves into!

A little late to the party, but just came across this video series. Thanks for sharing, brought back some great memories. We drove this trail about 2 years ago when it hadn't been particularly wet recently, so we didn't have any issues. But we could tell from the deep dips and ruts that this trail could be a real challenge! It's funny your wife mentioned that y'all hadn't passed anybody, I say the same thing when we're on a trail with unfamiliar intel and that always makes me a little nervous 🤣

I reckon if I travelled to the States and travelled through this beautiful Wyoming wilderness, I'd just cry. Cry of happiness, as it's truly a dream of mine for countless years to visit North America & Canada. So so beautiful. Not only reversing to try and get out but if that doesn't work, you can always disconect the trailer. The Jeep gets out easier. Recover the trailer with an upside-down maxtrax strapped under the trailers hitch. An hour and a half of fun learning and memories though. I always look back and appreciate those sort of situations. So, I also suggest to sit back a bit, have a cup of tea, relax and think about what to do in these situations. Except if you're in deep water, move fast if possible.
  • Great video! That was some nasty mud! You’ve sold me on getting some traction boards asap!
  • Just suscribed! Great videos, very enjoyable. Did you get stuck on a sidetrail to the ridge or on Greys River Road? Do you think Greys is passable pulling a 5000 lb trailer with a HD truck? Was your trip in June. Thx for sharing!

New viewer. Liked and subscribed and I have a question. I’ve got a little part time channel for fun but I can’t decide on a vendor to source some music. What have you tried? I’ve sampled a couple but one popular license free vendor (Epidemic) leans toward electronic type music more and that’s not my style really. Well, I do have a weakness for the Stranger Things kinda music (4:10). lol Thanks for any feedback. Great narration. Good selection of music. I felt immersed in the experience. 👍

What engine and differential gears do you have in that Jeep? Do you have any problems pulling down highway speeds?

I'm looking at doing this as my first badge of honor trail. When did you guys run it? Curious because I was reading that they added culverts and it's a lot less muddy than it used to be.
