My endocrinologist refused to run a reverse T3 rest for me. He was furious and asked who told me about it. My pharmacy told me. My test was at 5..he increased my levothyroxone..I am getting a new doctor..
-
Started taking Iodine drops with distilled water, no floride!, and the changes are mind blowing. Hypothyroid symptoms are going away.

its sad how many Drs just dont care anymore..

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism at the age of 35 (22 years ago) and was placed on 200 milligrams thyroxine. Over the past 2 years, and with dietary changes, I have managed to take myself off the meds all together. I Had all the bloods done in December, and all my levels are normal!

Last month I insisted my doctor schedule a blood test for antibodies to see if they were causing my longstanding hypothyroidism. He looked puzzled and asked why. I told him about leaky gut, gluten and molecular mimicry and that people with one autoimmune disease are more likely to get another. He asked, "Where are you getting this stuff?" Seriously. Incredible! It turned out that yes, I do have both TPO and TgAb antibodies even though I'm eating keto, largely free of gluten, soy, corn and seed oils. This month I'm experimenting by avoiding all dairy. I've already seen a benefit. I hope I don't have to give up dairy forever, but I'm pleased to finally be making progress.

Unfortunately, functional medicine doctors are often not covered by insurance here in the U.S. All of these tests and treatments, except for the natural ones like diet and lifestyle changes, can get very expensive.

I eat a lot of herring, sardines, meat, eggs…raw nuts, fruits/veggies. Sleep, strength training, walking in nature. Breathwork got it 🙌

Wish I'd had this knowledge 15 years ago. 🤷🏼♀️

Early 90s when we began to search for things on the internet, I found that Wilson’s Temperature Syndrome seemed to describe my symptoms. It was too much of a hassle to do the temperature taking protocol and I let that fall by the wayside. My symptoms were not severe at all but they were there nevertheless. I’ve never had healthy eyebrows or thick hair. I’ve usually lost motivation to finish most bigger projects unless others were counting on me. About seven years ago, a coworker was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, and her symptoms did not quite line up with mine but I still was thinking that my symptoms were thyroid related. In the last six months I’ve re-researched it and have added iodine to my morning coffee. What a difference! By day two I was doing “normal” stuff without even thinking about it. Finishing what I started. Taking the trash out more often. Keeping up with the laundry. Going to bed with a clean kitchen sink. I’m so grateful.

I have taken Armour Thyroid for about 8 years with great results. I wish every Doctor would check the full Thyroid panel.

My TSH was over 36! This is the worst I have ever felt. I have Hashimoto’s and it has never been so bad. More doctors need to know more about this disorder and offer more help. Thanks for posting information.

Absolutely beautiful advice but when are we going to see patients moving away from thyroid medicine altogether because they no longer need it. Is it possible in this toxic world!

Wow, a lot of content in the video. I have hypothyroidism and take Levothyroxine. I do try many alternative therapies; I try to strictly follow an anti-inflammatory diet. I do yoga, journal, mediate, get out in nature as much as possible. I take vitamins and supplements, do red light therapy. Hot/cold showers. I focus on sleep; stress reduction. I feel like I do everything I can possibly do but feel like I'm missing something? Thanks for all the good information.
