Would your sunglasses shatter from a projectile traveling at 150 ft/sec? The Wiley X Valor won’t. Sunglass Rob talks with Wiley X about these ANSI rated performance safety glasses.

What does ANSI rated mean? It means the Valor is certified for on the job use. But unlike many other safety glasses, the Valor is stylish enough for every day wear. That’s where most safety glasses fail.

Nobody wants to wear glasses that say, "I never left my job."

The Wiley X Valor is one of the only ANSI certified semi-rimless frames around. These medium to large fit sunglasses are the perfect match for anyone that need a pair of shades they can take anywhere.

Thanks for giving the technical sizing specs ... that was helpful!
  • I train & shoot rifle / pistol when I can and also work around grinders, welders and chemicals during the day so it is nice to have a high quality set of glasses that can cover both fronts. My last pair of Tobis rode off on a flatbed trailer where I had set them in the middle of a repair job. Probably will get another set of Tobis for driving, and a Valor or Saint for shooting and working. Had some Maui Jims (Hookipa) which were comfortable and easy on the eyes as well but they tended to scratch more easily and did not offer me the protection that the Wiley X does. Keep up the good work Wiley X crew.

I bought these glasses and replacement lenses, no lie shit was really hard to remove the lenses, I was tugging on them for like 20m, attempting not to dmg the frame or lenses. That being said I managed to get both lenses off with extreme effort. Then I noticed the tolerances of the locking groves on the frame were at like right angles and, I grabbed my knife and trimmed them a little to ease up on the tolerances and kind of give the lenses more of an ability to slide into the grove and out. This ended up working and the lenses stay in place but can now slide in and out easier so it is possible to make it work, BUT it'll take some micky mousing which it shouldn't have to and be able to do this out of the box already. I do enjoy the glasses now and can swap lenses from prescription, polarized (when I have my contacts) and clear for indoor shooting range, my favorite glasses actually, BUT for feedback I would suggest Wiley make the grooves in the frame that lock the lenses be more smoother and loosen up the tolerances a bit to get some play so someone can swap lenses easier.

1:30 those rubber parts are starting to wear off after a short period of time (1 month). The official explanation is cause of the salt in our sweat and that we have to wash them after every use.

Are the actual lenses RX, or do you guys still do the RX insert?

How does the Valor compare to the Oakley Flak 2.0 XL? I like the Flak, but the only problem is the nose bridge is too narrow for me.
