Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., told "Cuomo" he stands by his statement to CNN about Vice President Kamala Harris being a diversity hire. He claims CNN asked the question "out of the blue" and he was fired up after the Secret Service hearing, leading to the inflammatory remark, but that President Joe Biden has said the same of Harris.

DEI bs...you men have always hired your buddies and she is not part of your boys'club

Joe restricted his VP search to a woman. By definition, that's a D E I initiative making her a D E I hire. It's not rocket science here LoL

Every president picks who ever gives them the highest chance. In fact they mostly pick from tossup or close states such as Michigan, Florida, Pennsylvania etc Biden picked Harris because she was qualified and she gave them the best chance. Vance almost has no experience compared to Harris, he is there because of his billionaire friend. He brings money that is why.
  • Why is pointing out people who are obviously DEI hires wrong. They are.

Cumo, DEI Hire needs to be correctly interpreted. DEI is for diversity, but it does not mean that it is not "not qualified." When Biden says he wants a woman VP, that means he is taking a woman for diversity. It does not that Kamala is not qualified, it means that all men are not eligible for Biden's VP. “If I’m elected president, I commit that I will, in fact, appoint a, pick a woman to be vice president,” Biden said at the CNN-Univision debate in Washington, DC (in 2019). "I am not committed to naming any, but the people I've named, and among them are four Black women," Biden said. This does not mean they are not qualified. It is Biden's choice, in his own words, to pick a Black woman as VP. As a strategy, Republicans are better off not mentioning DEI but attacking Kamala on her accomplishments or lack thereof, such as open border policy or lying about Biden's health.

Joe Biden quote August 30, 2019: "“Whomever I pick, preferably it will be someone who was of color and/or a different gender, but I’m not making that commitment until I know that the person I’m dealing with I can completely and thoroughly trust as authentic and on the same page [as me],” Biden said while speaking to a roundtable of black journalists." This is from a CNN article! DEI any way you look at it! The White House literally states an open DEI policy! Facts and honesty, literally the enemy of democrats!🤣
