One of the absolute coldest kills I've ever seen. Went beyond using an opponent's strengths against them to making then actualIy take their own life. I loved this anime.

This scene was the moment when this show went from “great” to “masterpiece”. Just brilliant.

You know, this is one of the darkest scenes I’ve ever watched in anime. I think the impact is all the more because this show so often feels light hearted.

I love demons in this anime, often I see ones where enemies have relatability and so on, or specifically demons are not so different from humans and so on. It's just refreshing to get a type of demon that is actually what they say it is in the anime. It is not a person, it does not feel as we do, it learnt language and mimics people only as a means to fool, and manipulate it's prey, they don't have family, they don't have friends, they are not mindless, they simply are incapable of feeling emotion, and without that, are incapable of sympathy for anything, even their own race. Even the one singular demon in the series who earnestly tried to learn emotions and understand them, merely scoffs about how he and his own race are truly monsters and incapable of it all at the moment of his death, even thinking his own time among humans attempting to learn was a waste in the end.

I love how gentle that spell Frieren used to dispel the soldiers looked, she really took Himmel's words to heart

To do her dirty by turning not only her own trump card, but her own body against her. Only to not even dignify it with killing Aura with her own hands, and even turning her back after commanding Aura to off herself. That's cold

Got to love Karma when the main character uses a villains own Ego against them Aura gambled her soul thinking she is weak and lost

Frieren really said ky and walked away, what a savage.

This kill seems much darker due to the fact that aura looks like a little girl. But gotta remember shes a demon and does not have human emotions.

This anime single handedly revived a dying genre of anime

One of two of my most anticipated scenes in the entire manga after I heard the manga was being adapted. MADHOUSE nailed it

This was the epitome of "You fool, you have no idea what you're up against" and "Oh...Well, actually, it's YOU who have no idea what youre up against"

"Aura, kys. GG no re"

I'm going to declare a headcanon that those scales have both a line-of-sight requirement and a cooldown. Because if they didn't, in the 80 years that Frieren was leaving Aura alone, she could have taken the entire north. There has to be a limitation of those since no one else has the mana to stop it.
