I know that everyone comments on how Frieren and Fern both only use normal attack and defense magic, but I think everyone's missing out on how the two of them actually have very different styles. Sure, both of them wait a bit to assess their opponent, but Fern is the epitome of "if I hit it enough, it'll break" while Frieren is more "I only need one shot if it's the right shot."

Frieren a legendary mage, won against the demon king Denken: "Nah, I'd win"

If you look closely in the beginning Frieren shot 1 Zoltraak beam to the side and then 7 beams simultaneously afterwards. That's a total of 8 beams shot. Denken blocks 1 right away, and then 6 chase after him afterwards which he also blocks. So that's 7. That means the one that flanked Denken at the end after all of his attacks was one of the beams Frieren shot in the very beginning. She did the same move as the super dead angle Zoltraak shot against the Sleep/Plant Monster with Sein. That's how she was able to surprise Denken and that momentary distraction was enough for her to close the distance and hit him point blank ending the fight right there. Frieren knew what to do from the very beginning and executed her plan to perfection. I love the attention to detail and how subtle it was. They never gave us an explanation as to how Frieren did it but it's right there if you look close enough.

I like how in this universe, the mages aren't just weak bodies who can use magic but also use their staff's as weapons and charge right in to deliver magic or physical attacks.

I love how Denken went from, "I'll crush her" to "This was practically a combat lesson for a trainee."

Now after the EP 25 and 26 I finally see how much she actually held back here...

The way she gets pushed back by her final attack makes it look even more powerful, and reminds me of Megumin.

Those who says Denken is overconfident with saying gonna defeat Frieren. It's more about magis is visualisation, he needs to be able to think he can defeat her right from start or its an absolute impossible. Also Denken always think how to defeat the mage every first time they met (this can be see future in 3rd test with Serie)

"Do you really think there's a mage in this world greater than Serie??" Out pops Frieren 5 seconds later

People in this comments section acting like Denken is surprised Frieren won. Denken KNEW who she is, but he HAS to win, he has a grave to visit. He's not about to just raise a white flag, especially not a man of his status, the royal court mage. ISTG.

Just wait until Frieren spams the "see through your clothes" magic. I'm sure that's what ultimately brought down the demon king.

Ignore the people asking for 60fps, don’t ruin the art

I really appreciate your channel, unlike many others you don't ruin the artwork by forcing in fake frames just to make it 60fps and you don't cut scenes up like you're having the biggest ADHD tweak of your life. Usually they do it under the pretense that they will evade copyright claims and/or fool the algorithm, but that's a fallacy, if the algorithm wants it flags those videos and take them down, most publishers however don't give a flying fuck and don't do it unless you outright upload their whole episodes, industry as a whole has been very lenient when it comes to scenes only, so once again thank you and I wish all those other mongrels started doing the same, blocked so many channels that do this crap since they flood my recommended feed.

The Frieren Anime combat theme is titled Zoltreck. Qual must be happy that his magic is ao defining that combatants are litterly dancing to it.

To be fair, now that we look back on it there is literally only 2 mages in the entire series that have used more than like 2 spells in combat, and it's Denken and Frieren, not saying he ever had a chance but he's definitely not weak
