That whole monologue from Mark Ruffalo on how RDJ has done it all and doesn't have to prove anything to anyone is honestly some beautiful stuff to hear from a friend.

I’m so grateful RDJ is sober and healthy and that we still get to have him around. So many people lose that battle to their addiction.

I love how they're both uncomfortable with praise so they keep bouncing it back towards the other :D

Incredibly rare to see friendship captured so well on film. Not protecting themselves at all from the other, just being genuine. Especially around that 20 minute mark.

Mark Ruffalo is so dear, so sincere, so kind, so wonderful, so talented, just give him his Oscar already .😊

The original cast or OG Avengers friendship is what made those ealier Marvel movies so much fun. You could just feel the love and respect they had for one another. This was a great interview or better yet, a great conversation between friends.

If more people saw poor things they’d realise how absolutely slept upon Mark Ruffalo’s performance is.

The Actors on Actors where the two have been co-stars either once before and reunite or multiple times and are good friends are always the best ones to me cause it feels more like we’re just watching a regular conversation than an interview.

44:05 I loved how Mark said “I didn’t see you Robert Downey Jr” because I watched the entire movie not knowing Strauss was Robert Downey Jr until afterwards. He was just that good. A phenomenal performance it was…the stillness and subtlety of it all was just impeccably orchestrated. Well done…just well done, sir.

I was on the brink of tears with this one. Not just for the genuine compassion and reverence these two have for each other, but for their heartfelt love of film/theatre.
  • Such an intelligent, empathetic, genuine conversation between two fantastic actors and people. Really great episode.

The mark of a deep friendship between two people is when they don't have to hyper-act around each other. I love that RDJ is his true self with Mark, not having to worry about putting a Tony Stark personality when he's with acquaintances, hard relate and love them both.

I love when rdj stops cracking jokes and becomes serious for a second. He’s so well spoken and smart and appreciative of his colleagues and says so many interesting and insightful things. Yeah he is probably Tony Stark forever, for us and for the next generation and he probably realises this. But the fact that he keeps pushing himself higher and higher when as Mark said there’s nothing left to prove is admirable and inspiring. He was so open about his doubts to act out of marvel again and he did a freaking amazing job. He deserves this Oscar as no one else this year. And coming back to the old theme, his story is undoubtedly the greatest redemption arc a man could ask for.

There’s something about this conversation that makes me want to cry. They’re both so beautiful and talented and humble and don’t realize how wonderful they individually are (to an extent). I’ve loved them both for so so long and seeing them speak about their long lasting friendship, praising the other, etc. is just so wonderful. ❤

RDJ didn't just start the MCU but you can see he inspired the other actors , attracted them to the projects, and then got them all going and wanting to be on their A game. Thank you RDJ - that run where each MCU movie after another kept amping up the hype train was some of the best movie going experiences I can remember at the theater
  • @prahladsethi76
Downey should do a TED talk. His insightful revelations and profound reflections added a layer of depth to the conversation.
  • @alizzybookling
Mark telling RDJ he has nothing to prove to anyone was just beautiful. Wow, what a huge conversation filled with heart and genuine care. ❤

The first think I always see in Mark R. is his warmth. The kindness. With Robert D., it's the strenght of a survivor. Both wonderful, very talented people.
