You like Mareux? His early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when Decade came out in '13, I think he really came into his own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, synth-driven , and a new sheen of relatable aura and comparison to American Psycho's aesthetics that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to รธfdream, but I think Mareux has a far more unique and individual sense of humor. In '21, Mareux released a cover of The Cure's "The Perfect Girl", easily his most accomplished work. I think his undisputed masterpiece is "Summertime". A song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of wanting someone and the feelings of summertime itself. It's also a song about yearning for that special someone's touch despite that person not being there with you anymore. HEY MR. KITTY!

Why is it that the song "mareux - the perfect girl" has such a potent vibe that just feels like it speaks to the condition of this generation? I'm not even talking about the lyrics, just the instrumentation. Its like dark, almost creepy, but deeply emotional and melancholic, pained even. It sounds like how it feels to be profoundly alienated, to the point of losing yourself and your mental stability.
