Thank you for providing this interview. I found the discussion very insightful, particularly around trends towards misanthrope which have proven key justifications for authoritarian responses to the management of the virus. I agree with Prof Furedi about the concept that current dominant ideologies are highly reactionary and/or conservative and that we're missing ways of thinking that provide pathways to human betterment.

Excellent interview. So helpful to be reminded how a culture of fear and risk avoidance is both a culture of timidity and of mediocrity.

The lack of education in many areas can be one of the reasons of our fear. Living and working abroad where you do not know the rules and you don't understand the local people.
