It's really bizarre seeing popular auto channels like Carwow just completely ignoring Chinese EVs even as sales continue to surge worldwide. Carwow featured a few of them for a while but then it just stopped talking about them entirely, almost like it was pressured or even instructed to specifically avoid mentioning any Chinese EVs whatsoever.

Geely has an investment in Malaysia's Proton car brand which it is using to make RHD cars to sell. It also bought Lotus from Proton. Geely currently plans to built EVs in Malaysia.

If Tesla, South Korean and Chinese BEVs are growing everything is fine.

It's not just one or two Chinese brands making their moves overseas. GWM, SAIC, Chery, GAC, Nio, JAC are all advancing in their overseas sales. Largely due to the American sanctions, Russia has been buying Chinese cars big time too.

It will be a titanic battle between BYD and Geely. BYD is doing its utmost to consolidate its position. According to BBC and CNBC, Uber and China's BYD are forming a partnership to deploy 100,000 electric vehicles in the EU and Latin America. Uber will use approximately 100,000 electric cars from the Chinese brand BYD through its taxi app. The two companies signed a deal on last Wednesday for a multi-year collaboration. They want to lower the cost of electric cars for Uber drivers and introduce millions of passengers to "more environmentally friendly rides," the companies say.
