Welcome to Liverpool! One of the most fun cities I have been to in quite some time. The Scousers or Liverpudlians if you prefer were incredible, the food was good, and there were some great sights to see in Liverpool, but I need to give you the best tourist information on Liverpool to get you ready for a visit so we have the do's and don'ts of visiting Liverpool. What not to do in Liverpool.

  • Scouser here, thank you so much for such an enthusiastic, glowing review of our wonderful city and it's people. Makes a change from the usual grief we get from some Brits, lots of whom have never even been. Nice one big fella!
  • Wolter, I love your videos but you forgot the biggest don't: DON'T stay at the adelphi hotel!
  • @loupeelou902
As a Scouser I was a bit sceptical when I saw this, but you’ve got everything right! Thank you for taking the time to talk about our wonderful city 😊

American here - I spent a few days in Liverpool a week ago & I am absolutely obsessed with the place, its history, its people (!!), the variation of architecture and landscape (half an hour rail ride to Formby will take you to the most beautiful dune beach, while a half hour ride in the other direction takes you to the most gorgeous Parisian park.) And do not even get me started on the food scene - I don’t think Liverpool’s capable of making bad food!! The youthful edge & playfulness give you such a cornucopia of unique activities to do, with the Baltic Triangle being some of my favorite bits of the city. I can’t wait to come back - it felt like my soul’s home. ❤
  • Even as a Manc, this actually made me wanna bob over to Liverpool for the day! Can't give a better compliment than that 😅

I'm a Londoner, who has lived in this great city for 20 years. My wife is a scouser. Liverpool is the best city in the UK, and the people are great.

As someone who moved to Liverpool from the south about 15 years ago, I couldnt agree more with your lovely review. You are right about the sense of humour - Liverpudlians are quick-witted and creative. It's one of my favourite things (my wife is a Scouser). Even when they're seemingly insulting you, it's usually meant in an endearing way. I swear this city is one of the most unique places in the UK. By far the friendliest and passionate city in the country. You can have a chat with strangers in the street without them thinking it's weird. You can't do that in London. I will never ever live down south again. If you're ever thinking of moving here, or just visting, please do it. The people will be so welcoming. Thanks you Liverpool for restoring my faith in humanity ❤

Moved here in '88 and somehow never left. I had travelled up from London and the second i got off the coach with my suitcase a Scouser said, "all right queen?" It's not just a city it's a spiritual home. ❤
  • I have been to Liverpool once, the thing l took away from it was how friendly the people are.
  • @1969PCP
This Brighton born & bred southerner loves Liverpool, the city, the people, the culture, the history, the humour, not forgetting their strength to stand up as one for justice....I find myself standing up for the city and its people whenever I hear negative comments, whether in person or online. If you haven't been it's a must on the Cities to visit in the UK, along with Brighton of course....
  • Was recently over in England and the vast majority of our tour group (30+ Australians) thought Liverpool was the best place we went to, and that included London. Mathew St on a Saturday night is absolutely insane, especially when the weather is warm. People are fantastic, there’s a lot going on in that area, plenty of live music. Albert Dock is also very nice and spent some time at Crosby Beach which is lovely again in warm weather, and of course visiting Anfield as a Liverpool supporter. Great city!
  • @Pagan91
Great video! As a scouser myself, I would always recommend a trip to Lark Lane. A cool Bohemian neighbourhood located in South Liverpool opposite Sefton Park full of quirky bars, shops and restaurants. Definitely worth a visit for tourists wanting to explore outside of the city centre.
  • @sztrapesz
I am a private hire taxi driver in Liverpool. When the people hear my accent, they always ask where am I from. When I say I came from Hungary, the typical jokes what they say:"I am starving". 😅 One time when I answered "I am from Hungary".he said, "Me too". Of course he wasn't. When we finished the fare, the price was around 5.60 pounds, he gave me a twenty. I started to calculate the change, but he said to keep it. I said is more than triple! What did he say? "But you are hungry!" It was a big laugh. What a guy?! So yes, the people are really friendly and chatfull here and I didn't regret to move here from London 8 years ago.
  • @mrn13
My first Liverpool memory was on the plane going there, after some conversation the man beside me said "in Liverpool, people are gonna talk to you" and I was like...."ok". Then there, I step in to the first pub and I observed that 2 gentlemen obviously not knowing each other (since they where sitting at different ends of the bar counter) starting talking, then the bar woman came towards me and asked in the Scouse accent "what can I get you love?"
  • I'm from 'down south' (Somerset UK) and have visited Liverpool a few times. Didn't know what to expect the first time, some years ago, and was blown away by the beauty of the architecture, the multitude of wonderful things to see/do, and above all the true warmth and friendliness of the people. I absolutely loved it. I went to all the museums (inc 'the Liverpool museum' AND the 'Museum of Liverpool', the more modern one you showed - both worth a visit, as is the fabulous Walker art one). It was great to see the places I saw/tours I did on your video. There's never a dull moment, i agreed with everything you said and I can heartily recommend the city and the people. Loved it!
  • Scouser here, again thank you for showing what makes Liverpool the best city in England. The media constantly plays us down I think it’s because we offer the best of everything. Most welcoming city you will find. I live in Spain now and the thing I miss most is hospitality of people. Great video
  • @derekmain9914
In my extensive experience in dealing with foreign visitors to Liverpool there is no descending narrative about Liverpool other than they enjoy their visit also when people from Britain ( especially from down south) they cannot believe how beautiful the city and friendliness of the local is and nothing like they expected Anyone with preconceived ideas about Liverpool should visit you will be pleasantly surprised.
  • Crosby Beach is worth seeing there. There are 100 Antony Gormley cast iron sculptures on the beach that get covered by the tide. A beautiful any unusual piece of art. And yes Liverpool is a wonderful city.
  • @dazo69
As a Brummie i spent a few days in Liverpool with my wife and we absolutely loved the place. We went into the Cavern at 2 one afternoon and staggered out at 11.30 after watching a whole day of different bands and solo artists - all of them top drawer. Had a good look at the city and the old docks too which was also wonderful. It is our favourite city in the UK (after Brum of course lol)
  • What an absolutely brilliant introduction to the city of Liverpool. It makes such a refreshing change to hear the positives rather than people going on about the negatives. I love the city for its great people and things to do ❤
